They're both cowards, but it's so realistic that it hurts. I can imagine acting the same if put in their shoes, so that just gives away how marvellously you wrote those two ice-breaking conversations :)

Another excellent story, dear! I really do love how you write it just from Arthur's perspective, but you also give such a detailed account for Al, albeit in Arthur's imagination, that we can imagine what he's doing too. Very well done. :)
And just for the record, I love the Sassoon poem at the top. He was a wonderful poet, and the man led an interesting life, to say the least!
