I read this fic for the first time a few years ago and can I just say it was just as much as a heart-aching joy the second time around. The image from this that has most stuck with me for some reason, is Bilbo among the wargs, I remembered that above all else. Just the mind numbing horror of the first chapter, and how he keeps overhearing just the right, wrong bits of conversations to keep him convinced, breaks my heart but oh do I love it.

I am very curious as to if he thought Fili and Kili were on the side of the rest of the company.

The image of Bilbo, threatening Dain, who is utterly terrified, while most of the company stares is just utterly hilarious, as well as the threat to eat his beard. I lost my mind, I don't know why I didn't remember that bit, I really should've, its pure gold!

If I were Thorin I would have done the same thing except I would have also told Dain that Dwalin would be the one to carry out any and all punishments. He got off too easily, if you ask me, especially since Canon Bilbo is way to forgiving for his own good.

It was sooo good! I thought I have read everything worth attention from english hobbit fandom, but thankfully I was wrong! Great idea and exploited nicely. Bunch of dwarves runnign after Bilbo like chindren chasing cat... Hobbit powered by will of life and survival instincts... Dain and his misunderstandings, and like, everything. You gave me a nice evening, thanks.

I love it i think this story was brilliant. Absolutely love Bilbo and his resourcefulness even in such the state that he was in.

Chapter 18 and 19 seems to be the same unless they are in 2 different veiews

I love this. I get its a more serious story, but when Dain thinks Bilbo would want a bag of BUTTONS, I have to stop and laugh. Which I shouldn't be doing cause everyone else is asleep but a it's just too good.
