Hi, so I'm wondering if when Ran threatened Kaito with Sonoko (and her boyfriend) and Kogoro that they'd do it for Shinichi, not at Ran's behest? Because they did react with extreme prejudice when they broke up. Not to mention that Shinichi had wisely avoided the detective agency.

This is adorable and sweet and I really like the domestic feel of the time-skip epilogue. All the changes to the house - it actually manages to make the setting of the Kudo household feel lively and unique and very much in the spirit of 221B Baker Street even though it's very different, something I never got from the canon Kudo manor - it's become this comforting home filled with all these eccentric aspects that each have their story; like the setting is just as much a character by becoming a reflection of the unique characters that live there. I could read a whole series of Holmes-style mystery novels with that as one of the main settings; just Kaito and Shinichi and the odd clients, stories, and shenanigans of 2-21 Beika-cho.
One thing, though: the reaction of Ran and Sonoko and even Kogoro to Shinichi and Ran mutually deciding to break it off feels bizarre. Why would Sonoko scream at Shinichi if it's what Ran wanted? I could see Kogoro acting gruff on principle but not angry, especially not if this was also Ran's choice. And I can't understand Ran's choice not to talk to Shinichi for a year - she's known him since he was five, for crying out loud, and it's not like they left things on completely disagreeing terms. It feels very uncharacteristically bitter for all three of them, really, to treat Shinichi like that, and for Ran and Shinichi to avoid dealing with the issue. It was weird that Ran threatened Kaito like she was Shinichi's overprotective sister after not talking to him for over a year, and even weirder that she contrasted Shinichi now with how lonely and tired he looked before, when that was partially her fault as she knows she's one of his only friends; if she noticed how badly Shinichi was handling things post-break up, and how alone he was, why didn't she do anything? It comes off as very hypocritical to threaten Kaito after not a whole year of not making any effort towards Shinichi's wellbeing even as a friend. Because of how little we see of Ran's and Shinichi's relationship in this AU and how contradictory her actions and motivations are, she came off as very unsympathetic.
It wasn't that big a problem, it only came to my attention because Ran's the person through which we see how Shinichi's and Kaito's relationship is going after the time skip. Otherwise, this was super cute, and I'd love to read more stories in this universe!

My first thought when I read about Ran threatening Kaito was: And Kaito thought Shinichi's soccer ball was bad! This was a great story and I loved reading it!
