Oh, I love how serious Dash is about baseball. And how it's the Beckett genes in him showing, considering Castle likes the mascot and the family more than the game. It's beautiful how you cut out a one-on-one moment with each kid for both parents, showing how different Ellery and Dashiell are, and yet how much enthusiasm and joy they bring into their parents' lives.

I'm glad you explored this baseball dynamic more, and though I know next to nothing about baseball, you make me wish I could just go out and watch a game tomorrow to see if I'll be just as enchanted as Dashiell.

Again, this little piece was almost like watching a movie, I was picturing it so clearly in my head it was almost as if I had my eyes closed. You do help with my daydreaming, believe me ;)

This was amazing and having baseball play a part in the story was icing on the cake.

I really enjoyed how you had them see a Yankees game and how they prepared to go. It was nice to see Kate spend some time with Dash since they are the biggest baseball fans in the family. That gave Rick some time with Ellery. I really enjoyed the parts with the condiments as well as them looking at the memorabilia especially the mascots. You did an amazing job with the history and loved hearing about the San Diego Chicken.

Loved the final chapter as they made it home with Kate/Ellery and Rick/Dash spending a little time together.

The actual ending was wonderful especially the part about the perfect game.

So cute but I'm sad that this is the (hopefully only current) last fic with them as little kids. I'd personally love to see them a teenagers and likr a 7 or 8 year old Ella:)

loved the ending of this chapter, it reminds of the moment my sister decided she was done crawling and started walking. Freaked everyone out and my dad went running around our place trying to find a camera... damn you smartphones for not being invented yet.

I love Castle's (& Dash's) description of a "perfect" game - because it's so true. I love Dash & Rick picking out the same cereal, Rick telling Dash about the magic of Cocoa Pebbles, them eating (& sneaking) it together. Love Kate snuggling with Ellery. I just loved this story.

Ella has never needed to be rocked, only held. She always peers up at the one holding her, eyes growing more and more sleepy, drooping, and then she drops right off the edge into slumber. So easy it almost feels like a gift. - I love that description. It's just beautiful. like a gift, yes.

She kisses Ella's temple, the side of her cheek, breathes in the stillness and the quiet and the heavy little body trusting her. - AND MY HEART IS NOW A PUDDLE IN MY CHEST

For a surreal moment, Dashiell is both Kate and her beaming glances and also Castle and his whole-face smiles, and the blend of both of them in his son's patient wait for his Cocoa Pebbles makes Castle ache. - EKGJLSEKSJHCBGKJGDKJGKXHJGHKR yeah I really have no coherent response to that only FEELS.

"I said a perfect game was when all your favorite players were on the field and you had everybody you loved sitting in the stands with you, and then your team wins." - that is PERFECT. I LOVE CASTLE. And you.
