I love the head cannon about why he regenerated. And I also agree that Clara/Doctor is a cute ship, although my OTP is also River/Doctor. I also love the metaphor, even though I do to know the song to which you are referring.

Awwww that was so beautiful. I REALLY liked the way you wrote Clara and balanced it with River - and I'm not the only one who can't help shipping Doctor/Clara even though I'm a mega Doctor/River shipper! Oh the guilt. Damn it Moffat, what are you trying to do to us! And I really hope The Name of the Doctor is not Rivers last ep...but it would be a good place for it...which kills me...
