So truuuuuuue, Usopp is one of my fav characters because of his character development, it's a rather inspiring thing to see if you ask me. That little thing at the end, heroes do this, you do that, heroes do this, you do that- oh, that was so touching because I think it's what we all thought when Luffy so vehemently rejected hero status. And then, heroes don't let anyone die... Usopp was just the right person to cover that conversation, absolutely. Well done, this was some beautiful orchestration of character

This has honestly got to be the best Usopp-centric fic that I have ever read. I absolutely love how you have taken each of his defining moments and strung them together in such a way that we see just how much he has grown.

To be honest, Usopp is one of my least favorite characters. He annoyed me with all his big talk and disrespect for Luffy's position as captain from the very beginning. After their dual at Water 7 I started liking him more and now after the time-skip I can actually stand his character. That said, he is probably the most realistic and human out of all of them. He isn't ridiculously strong like Luffy, Zoro or Sanji, he doesn't have powers like Robin, Brook or Chopper, and he can't control weather or turn his own body into a weapon like Nami and Franky can. However, he can think on his feet, has good aim and will stand up in the face of danger when it counts the most.

As you said, he has the most character development out of anyone in the One Piece universe. He doesn't start out very brave or confident and, in all honesty, is very weak compared to everyone else. He knows this now, accepts it, and is learning from it. His greatest strength is that he learns from his mistakes and keeps getting stronger, not so much for his own sake but for that of his crew.

Usopp is a hero. Luffy is one too, even if he's much too stubborn to see it. Usopp has learned so much from Luffy over the past several years and now he has the chance to return the favor. I've noticed that he is often the one to pick Luffy up when he cannot carry himself anymore, entertains him with his tall tales and is the one who is his best friend in all but name. Usopp sees Luffy, really sees him in a way that no one else on their ship could, because out of all of them he's the one who has been changed the most.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. I've caught the feels-bug as well and I blame it on you. :) This is really, really good and the development and build up is perfect. Everything is characterized perfectly and the grammar is great. The only thing I can think to improve this would be for the really long paragraph (where Usopp is giving his big "heroes" speech) to be broken up so I can read it easier. Other than that, it's fantastic.

Thanks so much for a great story that reminds me of how great One Piece really is! Such diversity and growth is amazing and you reminded me of why I keep watching it. Hope you have a really splendid day!

And you hit his character right on the spot. Its really cool how you involved all of his battles and thoughts as he's grown. It really touched me, spectacular job.

I like it but you forgot about thriller bark,that was an important battle for him to.

Usopp as a character is extremely under rated and overshadowed by the monster trio. I think he is one of the most human characters in the one piece universe. I really like how you picked out the defining moments in Canon to show usopp's character maturing. The ending part about the hero just sealed the deal. It's really sweet and it shows ussop more mature emotions as he guides luffy along. Really well written. :3

Man, you make me want to cry with all these feels...

I sometimes feel that Usopp is actually one of the bravest because being brave doesn't mean having no fear like Zoro, Sanji and Luffy when they face their opponents (not that they don't feel fear but that more long the lines of their companions being hurt than not beating their opponent) but having fear and being able to face it and over come it. Usopp in the case of the fisherman on Nami's island, when Luffy was fighting Robb and many other occasions was absolutely terrified yet he still came through for his nakama... that in my eyes makes him a truly brave man and a hero XD

Damn right, Usopp has some amazing character development and this is a nice reflection on that. It covers all of his major moments and captures the feelings of those moments perfectly in a bottle, charting the development brilliantly. I was very impressed by this and, save for a few typos, really enjoyed it, especially the friendship between Usopp and Luffy. Well done.

Another really great story :) I love the character development Usopp has in the cannon and you've portrayed it really well in this story.
I also really liked the bit at the end. When Luffy and Usopp talked about what heroes do and more importantly what they don't do, I was basically like 'awww! so sad!'
Usopp and Luffy really have such a strong friendship :)

I just wanted to thank you for writing this. I feel like too many people forget or refuse to acknowledge all the good Usopp has done for the Straw Hats. Its nice to have this little summary story as a reminder for people. Plus, Usopp's like my favorite character in the series (and possibly in all of manga/anime), so its nice to see a story about him show up on this site once a while, especialy one writen as well as this is. Kudos, UNseated4TH, and, uh good luck with your "feels".
