Colbert readies himself to intervene.
Does nothing despite that line. Aekmon even takes the time to speak down to Guiche, giving an opening for Colbert to strike.
Yet he does nothing.
Lol ok.
Colbert should have tried to stop Aekmon, been tossed aside, given the "he accepted the duel" spiel, and had Guiche killed in front of him. This is a hardened veteran; he would not stand by and freeze up, even in the face of unknown factors.

From your author's note, I see the Lord of Change line was about Louise being a general Chaos leader. Why does she have potential where Aekmon does not (which you specifically said)? Aekmon is likely a thousand plus year old veteran of endless war well versed in warpcraft who likely had to stab a few backs in turning to Chaos. Perfect for Tzeentch.
Louise, in comparison, is some stupid human girl who has done nothing but be pampered since the day she was born. Bullied and full of spite, maybe, but any old factory worker in the Imperium has it worse. She has Void magic, yes, but given that she is being taught sorcery instead, what's the point? Why is she a better choice than Aekmon for leadership of a warband?

Foolish.
Media Consumer chapter 5 . 3/17/2017
Why can Louise become a Lord of Change? Humans become Daemon Princes when elevated. There is no reason for her to become a Lord of Change; if it is some power thing, realize that Daemon Princes can vary in power from slightly under to vastly more powerful than Greater Daemons.
If it has to do with Louise being of the Void, that's unnecessary authorial fiat. There is no assocation between Tzeentch (ambition, change, and sorcery) and the Void. Especially in some distinction that would mark her as a Lord of Change, not a Daemon Prince candidate.
It seems you're being cryptic to instill a sense of cunning plans afoot, and it comes across as stilted and not particularly thought out.
Media Consumer chapter 3 . 3/17/2017
You succeeded in making the Guide look like a master manipulator by reducing everyone else's intelligence to zero. Why would Osmond care to have the Guide train Louise if he thinks it's only going to make a few days' difference, barely postponing Louise's expulsion? I'm sure Louise's parents would be oh so happy their daughter was in for several more days, certainly, especially when they won't even know of this effort made. And explosion victims, really? Hardly a concern when her explosions are purely comical when at the Academy and the student body is inured to its effects.
Remove that line and everything flows more logically. Or replace it with one about how they have a chance to observe the Guide's capabilities, something they would be interested in after his casual display of power in removing the runes.
