THe scene is that Kirk asks how he shuts off his emotions -paraphrasing can't remember exactly what Kirk says- And Spock responds with "I'm failing now." To show that he's not infallible, and that he can't help show Kirk not to feel. And stuff. -cough- Still, really cute oneshot, very much captures the feels of that moment x3 |

| hermione-of-vulcan chapter 1 . 5/19/2013 A couple Trek nitpicks: Vulcans do have emotion, however they choose to supresss it. This is harder for Spock because he is part human. Also, Vulcans are not immortal. They live much longer than humans normally do, even in the 23rd century, but they are not immortal. This does accurately depict Spock's emotions at that scene. The old Spock barely ever lost composure, but the one time he did was for Kirk. |

| TheLostPevensie chapter 1 . 5/19/2013 Just my own belief (I saw the movie last night), I think Spock said "I'm failing", in response to Jim asking how you choose to not feel, and Spock said, "I do not know. Right now I am failing". But it could probably be interpreted either way. D I liked the one-shot! Keep writing! |
