Orochimaru did seem like the charismatic type in canon - maybe he turned up the creepiness and disregard for subordinates when Sasuke was involved, to test his willingness to get power at all costs?

Feels like alot of this would be blacked out if handed to the Konoha nins.

Getting into each of these characters heads is one of my favourite things about this story, you have a knack for fleshing these guys out.

Im perfectly happy reading whenever you get something done.

I'm not really sure of what to think about where this story is going but it's deffinitely interesting. Was very sad to see Jiraiya go though before he had the chance to have Naruto sign the summoning contract. Would have been cool to see the toads come in at some point.

I have to say, this is a really interesting idea. Making Naruto into a different person, but not totally changing his personality. It works very well, and I like the subtle changes you've made to canon.

i personally always believed Orochimaru had a great amount of charisma.. that he could convince people into joining sides with him even regarding his history and reputation. something akin to what naruto does. the only difference being their motives and true intentions. naruto truley wanting the best for others and Orochimaru merely using other. there are quite a few other thing they have in common. such as the desire for resignation. Orochimaru want to be recognized for his genius and naruto as a somthing other than a jinjuriki(Spelling?).
not to mention the dream of being hokage. i always felt there was naruto had more in common with orochimaru than jiriaya..
