I always love political intrigue and Loghain is such an interesting character to examine from different angles. The only thing missing is the part where Alistair *literally* trips over his own feet! ;)

Poor Alistair, I bet he regrets letting Elissa dance with that slithering ol’ brute. I love your interpretation of Loghain, he was exquisite, infuriating, and creepy. Alistair & Elissa were exceptionally perfect. From the moment they stepped out of the carriage, it was obvious that they were smitten by each other.

Anyhow, this is quite good, I'd definitely read a few more chapters to see if they decide to spare Loghain after the landsmeet.

Personally, I like to think that Alistair's qualities - selfless, devoted to his country, brave, smart, honorable - outweigh anything Loghain or Anora could offer. And speaking of barren wombs, let's not forget that Anora didn't manage to produce an heir during the time she was married to Caillan...

Brilliantly done! Your descriptions of the costumes (especially Elissa's) made me want to go to the ball so much! Gorgeous.

In just a few sentences, you set the tone between Alistair and Elissa so very well. They're the couple very much in love, and so sweet to each other. Love them :)

Loghain was perfectly awful - the irredeemable villain we all love to hate. The worst thing is, in some ways we know he's right. That his brand of politics is the way the power structure usually works. And even in that small moment, forcing his kiss on Elissa, he triumphs again. His point is made, his dominance asserted, and there's nothing they can do to erase that moment.

In some ways, the cold, calculating, yet brilliant antagonist is the most dangerous one. You made that point perfectly.

Your Loghain is absolutely perfect. He's a dark hidden obsession of mine and you just made me crave more of him.

Gah... I love Loghain and I see his point of view, no honor is gained from battle and it was a tough decision that needed be made. He's actually a very in depth character and I don't like Alistair (if I'm completely honest - his deference to a new recruit easily being the reason as well as his attachment over a man he knew for only 6 months - how many people are drawn in by his 'humor').
I do like the writing though, and the way you portrayed the characters in the POV of this particular Elissa Cousland. It's a good one-shot and you wrote to the prompt extremely well.
Still gonna love Loghain though. He's right (if more mercenary) xxx

When I finally stopped giggling with excitement to read the oneshot, I was completely and utterly blown away. You are amazing, truly. The descriptions of their outfits was spectacular. *Swoon* Alistair was ridiculously sweet. I loved the part about the Remigold teehee!
