I had nearly given up hope on ever finding a piece of Kai/Jou that doesn't sound like it's been written by a 12 y.o. fangirl who only just passed her English exams. This story just saved the fandom for me.

I love how you make the future sound so believable. I can picture everything that transpired vividly in my head. The contempt and bitterness the both of them have for each other is so strong that you can almost miss out the desire they have for each other. They are both so lonely and still deep in love but just so STUBBORN that they had no one else to blame but themselves for the twenty-year drift. God, they took twenty years too long to finally admit their greatest regrets and I hurt for them so much because I can only imagine how many times they'd thought back on that very day and wished they did something that wouldn't have resulted in the current situation.

And you don't know how hopeful I was at the ending. That line gave me so many feels. This story gave me so many feels you don't even know ),: I really couldn't have asked for a better writer.

This is EXTREMELY well written, in fact, I have no idea why this doesn't have reviews. The way you structured the plot around Kaiba and Jounouchi, (actually I've never really watched 5D's so I couldn't verify) and how strong the wording came out to be, especially in a one-shot, is incredible. There's nothing else I can say that you don't already know and if you don't know, I'll tell you. You're a REALLY good writer. And I know this might kill the nice leave-it-to-the-imagination-of-the-reader ending you've got going here but it would be nice if you followed up with this. Like give your own intake as to how Kaiba would help (or maybe not help) connect the two cities? ? ? ? But leaving everything is left to Yusei is okay too...
