Reviews for Not Quickly Broken
AshenMoon42 chapter 6 . 7/9
Love the idea of Bruce not being able to become Batman when he himself is a hostage. Nice writing!
tangerinee chapter 6 . 7/4/2018
I absolutely loooooooooooooooooooved this! 3 Great job, this is so well written and the characterizations are spot on *thumbs up * I always like to imagine Bruce in situations like this, where he gets into trouble as Bruce Wayne lol. I loved the bit where Gordon was wondering why Bruce wasn't sitting with his friends, and I was like "honey...you are probably the closest thing he has to an actual friend" lmao. I enjoyed this so much, thanks for writing and sharing this! :)
Melira chapter 6 . 3/1/2018
This is awesome on so many levels!
Your style is great, very fitting to the different situations. Something I value a lot. Almost as much as characters being portrayed on point, which you managed perfectly as well. Especially those three sides of Bruce. The playboy billionaire facade he puts up for the public, the real him he keeps slipping into while being around Gordon and Harvey and the moments he acted practically as Batman. What I remember most about that is the moment he decided he had to stop now, that he couldn't do anything more to help. Seems like a very big step for him to realise that!
In addition, I loved the humour, actually had tears in my eyes during that last chapter when Bruce spends the better part of the time on the roof doing stupid things and talking nonsense.
I could go on like this for hours but it's already way past my usual bed time - thanks to the fact that I couldn't stop reading - so I probably leave it at that.
Great work on all accounts!
WickedBlue chapter 6 . 1/19/2017
Gosh, I haven't read a Batman fic in ages and it has also been forever since I saw any of the movies, but I thought I'd give the fic a try after I've already been so blown away by your Robin Hood fics. And I was not disappointed. This is a really good fic too. I love how Bruce changes between his roles and how the other two catch onto that. And how Gordon takes care of a wounded Bruce and both Gordon and Dent worry when he isn't coming back. Altogether it was really well written and I so enjoyed reading your fic.

This is great. I love the dialogue and the small nods in the narrative to the whole story is pretty great.

I still need to read this story, but am adding it to favourites anyway on the strength of what I have seen of your wonderful writing. Am so, so looking forward to the read now.
Stoneage Woman chapter 2 . 9/22/2014
Oh, I can't believe I'm only finding this now! I LOVE Bruce/Gordon friendship fics and this is shaping up to be amazing. I also am really enjoying your characterization of Dent and Bruce, and the way Gordon looks at them both. Well done you!
Polinkaa chapter 6 . 8/18/2014
Great story. Love how you showed Bruce the Playboy. Nice interaction between Dent, Gordon and Wayne. Last chapter was unbelievable, Bruce making bat with his hands was hilarious.
Hannah Lynn McDonald chapter 6 . 5/26/2014
Wonderful story. While I kinda wish Gordon would figure it out sometime, they way they wrote it in the movies was perfect.

And it's amazing the discrepancies you wrote for Bruce to separate him from Batman! Afraid of heights, and the falling down the stairs scene-that was simply perfect.

Thanks for this!

And the terrifying coin of death surfaces again...
Freehobbit chapter 6 . 1/24/2014
This is the best thing I've read this year! Just 3 weeks in, but in all seriousness, this is easily the most satisfying fic I've read. Found it through googling a bunch of keywords and I was lucky; this gem made my night. Love the plot, the pacing... The dynamics! Brilliant dialogue, both the banter and honest conversations, and all that's inbetween. It read as a nuanced work, despite (or partially because of) the simplicity. This is great writing here [appreciative tone]. I especially appreciate how humour was inserted here and there throughout consistently - not only did it make me laugh my head off, but it made things feel much more real (oh, Bruce your airhead act!). Definite contrast with what other fics I've seen. And the meaningful! happy ending that these saviors deserve was nearly moving. Midnight here, too, and I could easily picture them on that rooftop. I can't express how much I love the three-way bonding. Other reviewers seem to have already said everything I could say, but much more eloquently. Brilliant. Joining the group pleading for more from you and hoping for the best.
acerbicish chapter 1 . 12/9/2013
Sequel? :D

I loved the dynamics between the three of them that you developed and think any sequel you do would be amazing. So pretty please? Regardless, I love the story.
