Oh, this is beautiful. Like so many authors, I too have written the 'impossibly beautiful' stand-in, and can now look back on those days with fond horror (or maybe horrified fondness). This fic makes me wish you'd written it a decade (egads, it's been that long?!) ago, because it is priceless. Thank you for being so awesome!

The style of writing is nice and concise and you nailed the Doctor's personality spot-on.
I'm with you on the hate of poorly-written fics like the ones you mentioned.
Not worth it.
And that really would be something to Doctor would do, wouldn't it?
