Reviews for Pieces
Rochana chapter 20 . 1/7
This is beautiful. I just... I don't know, your take on this is just gorgeous.

I watch the anime, and the ceremonial duel is my favourite moments. And you capture the feeling perfectly.

Hmm, maybe I should try to see the manga later. Your writing definitely make me want to do that.

Anyway, thank you for this fanfic. I know it's been years, literally. But still.

Thank you. This is Amazing.
Unseen Watcher chapter 20 . 10/17/2019
Epic. Thank you. That was a lot of work, I could tell. Thank you for the moments. Thanks you for showing us them.
YamiYugiYuki chapter 8 . 6/19/2019
In regard to last chapter because I forgot to add it in my review, when readers say “please don’t change the way you write” I think they mean don’t change your humor, there will always be things you can improve on but your humor is delightful :)

Loved the chapter the “you sets Yami up on a date with Tea” episode os my favourite. Particularly when they suddenly switch. I will never get tired of Yami’s reaction.
YamiYugiYuki chapter 6 . 6/19/2019
Can you please write a story about Yugi trying to -laughs- help Yami locate a missing floor. That is possibly one of the strangest sentences I have ever written.

Well done
Guest chapter 9 . 9/25/2018
Aknamkanon’s name in the Japanese version is so much worse.
Basket in a Nutcase chapter 1 . 7/2/2018

Kelesnya chapter 20 . 10/29/2016
I know it's been a long time since you wrote this, but I just read every chapter and just wanted to say thank you. Every chapter was beautiful and I'm really, really happy I found them and read them. You are amazingly talented. I'm going to go read every other yugioh fic you've written, now!
Atemue chapter 1 . 9/26/2016
Hey, short question, I wrote you a review for chapter two yesterday, but somehow the review won't show up, yet when I tried to post it again, I was informed I could not post a review for chapter two, because I already posted one. :( So, I'd like to know, did you get a review, or is this the first message? So far I've enjoyed the story, I've currently reached chapter 13 and I am eager to go on. :)

Sincerely

Atemue
Atemue chapter 2 . 9/25/2016
This has been an interesting and well written start to the collection of one shots. I'm looking very much forward to read the other chapters. Your writing style is very nice and I think these first stories fit the canon very well.
After reading this second one and the author's note at the end, I could not resist to put in my two cents, even though it's been some years since this story has been written and maybe you already heard if from someone else. But since I've read some manga chapters not so long ago once again, I remember the part with Nagumo and I can tell you he survived, because he showed up in Battle City. If you read the whole manga, you might remember there was this one guy who was unhappy with the card he won, therefore he beat up his opponent to get more cards. That was Nagumo, I think he even wore the same clothes as he did in that chapter with the monster fight. While he beat up that guy in Battle City, Mokuba interrupted and tried to settle the differences as a referee, but when Nagumo threatened the younger Kaiba brother, Seto showed up and dueled him, frightening him with his god card Obelisk. Unlike Seto, I declare Nagumo a lost case, though because he certainly did not learn his lesson, from Yami no Yuugi's penalty game.

Anyway, personally I think fanfics are offering us author's freedom to write different scenarios, and I like you approach with what happened to Nagumo. I also like your approach of the first tries of communication between Yuugi and Atemu. You kept their possibilities limited, Yuugi could neither see him, nor really hear him, it was more like a feeling that formed into words in your description, and for me that fit well with the manga. I can imagine this happening between them, before they finally met eye to eye for the first time during Bakura's yami no game and later their ability to approach each other in their soul rooms or appear as a ghost besides the other. It was like a hint of how their communication would turn out to be later on. Nothing in the manga hints that it could not have been possible, and since Death-T Yuugi has been more than aware of this other half already, so why should he not try communicate?

I also liked the way you portrayed them, especially Yuugi. It fits, he is still in the beginning of their friendship, still growing, has a long way to go, therefore his current situation, him being timid and peace-loving fits. But I can also see hints of his determination. He slowly starts to stand up for himself, even if for now all he can do is use the presence of his other self to fight back. I like the conflict you described here, that on the one hand Yuugi looks up to the confidence Yami no Yuugi possesses, while on the other hand, he's still a bit afraid of what the other can do and does do to people who wrong him or his friends.

All in all a nice chapter, I'm very much looking forward to read the rest.

Sincerely

Atemü
VikitChan chapter 20 . 3/18/2016
Im crying... simple as that.
No matter how much times I watch the ending of the anime or read the manga, cant keep calm at end.
Thank you for writing such a beautiful one shots.
Guest chapter 20 . 2/23/2016
Great story! You truly understand the characters, and it actually gave me a different perspective of the manga.

Speaking of the manga, have you heard about the new movie coming out this year for the 20th anniversary? It actually follows what happens after the manga, and is written by Takahashi himself. I never thought we'd ever get a canon Yu-Gi-Oh story again. I'm very excited.

Since I'm pretty hyped, I have a question for you. In chapter 18 you were describing how being in isolation messed with Atem's social skills (obviously)... is there any chance you could write a couple of one shots about this? Or a couple of one shots about him being put into situations that causes him to start relapsing into insanity again, which results in Yugi directly helping him? I mean realistically, he most likely would be completely overwhelmed periodically by those thoughts/feelings since an experience like that is extremely traumatizing.

If you don't want to write more one shots, that's completely understandable. I just thought I'd ask because honestly, you have a much better grasp of these characters than most authors do on this site. And seeing the movie trailer made me realize how much I miss the manga.

Anyways, thank you very much for writing this story! It truly is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh fic!
Shinigami Merchant chapter 20 . 2/23/2016
This series gave me so much joy, it was great to read a series of oneshots by an author who really understood the characters. In my opinion its a great fic to read while alongside the original series as it just adds another level of depth to the characters.

Thank you so much for writing this, I'll definitely comeback and read it again X3
Shinigami Merchant chapter 19 . 2/23/2016
Really, really heart warming and bittersweet
Shinigami Merchant chapter 17 . 2/23/2016
It was truly interesting how you had Atem come to grips with the sudden influx of memories from his old life. Also really glad that unlike a lot of people you've clarified that the memory world wasn't Atem's real memories, just a shadow game based loosely off his life
Shinigami Merchant chapter 16 . 2/23/2016
Really quite a philosophical chapter. Every one of these oneshots has its own unique take but they're still so well connected to each other, it creates such a nice flow when reading them.
