Reviews for Hero's Blood
IVIaedhros chapter 10 . 11/12/2007
Wonderful...when have any of the Waynes received a decent treatment outside of Batman? Never, to my knowledge. It's good to see them, or at least Thomas, honored.
Superfan chapter 10 . 2/27/2006
I can just hear the music from the WB series as if this were an animated episode, coming to a close.

Dum-dum-dum-DUM-DA-DUM! DA-dum!

Bravo! And, thanks.
Superfan chapter 9 . 2/27/2006
Hmm! Is someone trying to cover their tracks with regard to the "disapperance" of Bob Napier? Perhaps, to throw off investigation by, say, Federal agents? Or, has somone figured out the Gray Ghost's dual identity?
Superfan chapter 8 . 2/27/2006
This, as they say, does not bode well.
Superfan chapter 7 . 2/27/2006
One more nitpick: Alfred and Wilfrid's father's name is established as having been "Jarvis." So, if Thomas' butler isn't their grandfather, then "Winifred" should have been used as the name of their _mother_ in this story!

Just thought you should know.
Superfan chapter 6 . 2/27/2006
One word: priceless! ! !
Superfan chapter 5 . 2/27/2006
Rare kind of woman, that Darlene. Most others would have agreed with Thomas' guilty statement, all too quickly!

As for the "discrepancy?" Who's to say that Bruce Wayne's favorite childhood TV show wasn't inspired by an actual urban legend from the Roaring Twenties? A legend that was merely "sanitized," in countless re-tellings, for the sake of impressionable young listeners. Just look at the difference between the Adam West series and any reprint of Golden Age Batman, pre-Robin (especially, "Case of the Chemical Syndicate")!

And, with regard to the choice of name? Probably inspired by the Civil War exploits-and nickname-of Confederate Col. Mosby. The latter was a lot more Robin Hood-like in his guerilla warfare againt us Yankees than, say, Quantrill's Raiders. And, thus, deservedly earned more grudging respect than the Butcher of Lawrence, Kansas.
Superfan chapter 4 . 2/27/2006
Ah! The reality of his crusade sets in. Nicely done.
Superfan chapter 3 . 2/27/2006
Gun-toting millionaire vigilantes? What are they going to call themselves: Manhunters?

Oh, well! On to chapter 4.
Superfan chapter 2 . 2/27/2006
Just one nitpick: "Winifred" is a girl's name!

Perhaps, you meant to write "Wilfrid?" It would stand to reason that Jarvis Pennyworth would name one of his two sons after his beloved father.
Superfan chapter 1 . 2/27/2006
Oh, yes! You definitely have my attention.
britt-lipy chapter 8 . 3/23/2003
Ok, if my brain wasn't so fried from sleep depravation, I could actually come up with a half way decent review. But I can't. So um, I love your writing, I love this story, and I want more.
BenRG chapter 10 . 3/21/2003
Jack... /Napier/? :-O My dear Dante, you have just outdone yourself! The Grey Ghost indirectly /created/ Batman by saving the life of the boy who would one day kill him!

I'm glad to see this story updated again, BTW. It has been worth the wait. Now I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next part.

BenRG chapter 9 . 12/11/2002
It seems to me that the Gotham of the 20s and 30s was a bit like the Bludhaven of today. Maybe, if Bruce ever finds his father's casebooks, he should donate them to Dick. There might be some tips that the boy could use. ;-)

Okay, I'm all tense and set up thanks to your cliffhanger. Will the Grey Ghost find the children in time? Might this be a trap set up by the mob? We will have to see in the next episode, and I can't wait!

Oh, one other point. Bruce /definately/ got the 'voice' from his father. XD

BenRG chapter 8 . 11/29/2002
Well, the Grey Ghost's first big case appears to be looming on the horizon. It is also pretty clear that Winfred won't last for much longer. Are we going to see how Alfred got his job.

This is beginning to take on the feel of a 'The REAL Secret Origin of Batman', but I will reserve judgement for now. This chapter was a bit short. Hoping for more soon.
