Thank you! It's really an awesome fic to read! The style is beautiful, and the content is very realistic. Mulan for sure would have problems adjusting to the normal life back at her home, and I think it was really difficult for her to ignore her comrades like that. I liked the way you described her talk with the Emperor. And the way her family greeted her) Their way to send Ping off and then to make him fall ill is a very good idea...
Do you have any plans on continuing this story?
Also, I just can't help but wish for a turn where her friends or Shang would still discover her past. I think that if _you_ wrote it, it would be a great work to read! Even without the happy ending) Not that I request it, but if your inspiration ever goes that way, I'll be in cheering command:))
By the way, in your opinion, is it ever possible for Shang and Mulan to marry through matchmaker at such turn of events? Seems highly unlikely, doesn't it? T_T

This was beautifully written, and I love what you did with Mulan's characterization! The story progressed smoothly and naturally. It sounded rather formal as I read it, yet it was quite emotional. The Chinese proverbs were very interesting. I once read a book in high school that followed the stories of Chinese women and their daughters, which was a fascinating and enlightening read even if it was slightly difficult to sift through, and the tone of your story reminded me of it.

I really like this. I think you did a good job of changing the plot without changing the characters, and you stayed true to Mulan's character as it continued beyond the end of the movie into a different sort of story. It was sad, but accurately accomplished what you meant to, I think, in feeling the pain of her sacrifice, both in the war and beyond it. Well done.
