Funny I had such a hard time picturing the exact nature of your popcorn in your other story, but castles weren't so hard to figure out. Possibly because they're all over the place where I'm from. lol. I haven't seen Castlerigg, but I've been to Cumbria (Wordsworth's birth place isn't far) and seen Stonehenge in the South-West, and I could totally see Castle making a sort of pact with whatever ancient deity still haunting the place. |
| tearasunder chapter 1 . 10/28/2013 I'm sending a link of this story to a friend immediately who was really interested why Castle changed his last name since it's not just a career choice but a separation from the parent(s). Also, this part broke my heart a little: "My mother's murder is like that - a secret. At least sometimes I'm in control of who knows the secret when they look at me." I 100% know what that's like, only with another member of my family, and it's still something I struggle with. I don't know if you do, too, but you described it so right. |

When I read your stories, I believe that Castle really is a writer first and foremost. I think that gets lost sometimes on the show and in the fic. This was a fantastic and fitting origin story for our hero. Thank you. |

| Austcastlefan chapter 1 . 10/6/2013 Amazing. I don't know where you get these ideas from, how you come up with them, if you had your own castle experience, but this was just magical. The way you've used the words to weave this story, this idea of where the name "Castle" came from is just so compelling and yes, like poetry. I also loved how they describe each other, to each other, as non-essential personnel. Like their (previously) individual lives are now so intertwined with each other, as essential to living as air and water. Just beautiful. Stunning. Wonderful. Thank you. |
