| Luumus chapter 7 . 1/10/2018 I'll be completely honest with you, I don't enjoy your characterization of Hermione so far. It seems to me that in your quest to make Riddle seem domineering and powerful you've made Hermione boderline incompetent. Losing her wand to Riddle and then having to do a lap dance to get it back...? Thinking that she doesn't need her wand in Slytherin common room where Lord Voldemort and his death eaters go to? I'm sorry that's just dumb. And we all know Hermione is anything but, specially after what she went through in the war. As for fainting? Hermione, the most collected and quick thinking person during the war, fainted because of the basilisk? The same basilisk she faced petrification for to destroy it when she was a second year? No. The only reason I find for this, is that you wanted an excuse for Riddle to carry her princess style. Which you know, bit of a cliche... Which is alright but sacrificing proper characterization for it? No. Also I see very little of Hermione when she blurts out future knowledge. As she did countless times. That's something Harry would do because he's impulsive and has a temper. Hermione doing it, this frequently and without thinking? No. So yeah, it's a pity because it's a well written story with a very interesting plot, somewhat original as well but the characterization is a deal breaker. I know it's not easy to write Tom and Hermione. They are very complex characters so i don't intend this to be a flame or anything but I do think you need to ponder a little more on how Hermione is reacting. Best of luck Luumus |
