A great two-parter! I really appreciate all the research that goes into these stories. It was really interesting to read about the Royal Tournament as I remembered I had attended it once - something that I had actually forgotten about. I also appreciate the depiction of Madame Vastra and Jenny and their transition from outlaws to investigators.

I read your works too seldom, and reviewing is even rarer. It's not really casual reading, but more like curling up in the big chair with a tea mug and some Sherlock Holmes. Your way of describing the area, the attitudes and the people is so very well done that i find very little to complain about, and the things i do find have their basis in my flawed understanding of English. To open your profile in the morning and see that you have several chapters written that i haven't read can keep me slightly giddy the whole day.

I could never laugh at the amount of time it takes for one to write a story... especially not a story of this scale and caliber.

I hope you realize that The Dragons Heart Saga is almost as long as, if not longer then, the entire canon DW works regarding the Paternoster gang - COMBINED -

Silhouette is 256 pages long while ‘Devil in the Smoke’ is, at most, 20 pages (it is mostly an audio book). There are a few ‘The Paternoster Investigates’ in the adventure magazine for doctor who and of course the Crystal Throne and the Brilliant Book 2012’s tid bits... combining all this I would confidently say that ‘canon’ literature for this group is around 300 pages.

Now I’m not exactly sure how long your file is for the Dragons Heart Saga, but using AO3’s word count for the series (152,491 words) I’m gestimating your series is about 305 pages as of right now. (Note: I’m using the Microsoft Word’s average of 500 words per page for this).

Your dedication to this series is remarkable, and the amount of effort you pour into each page is not only recognized by each of your readers, but highly appreciated. Yes, we get worried when your life becomes hectic and updates slow to a crawl... but that is only because we love this series and wish to continue to enjoy it.

I am not joking when I say I would pay for this series. If you were to approach the BBC and ask to publish this I would buy the volumes up in a heartbeat. I understand you have a full time job and this is for fun, not for profit, and that makes me appreciate it all the more.

I wish I could do something to aid you in your endeavors (besides offer words of encouragement in the comments and sending you the occasional ask on Tumblr) but there seems to be nothing you need.

When time permits (AKA after exams) I will look further into how this story has progressed and offer you my heart-felt commentary on how I see Jenny and Madame Vastra are developing as characters, the things I love, the things I am confused about, and interpretations of where I suspect the story will go in book 5.

What a cute ending! I love how they immediately fall asleep like that. I love how in such a slow way, a platonic love is beginning to form between them.

I really enjoyed this story. I think I stumbled upon part 1 this past August and I think I've read all the parts a few times since then. It's so well thought out and has such great supporting characters. Splendid job! Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next installment! :)
