Damn it, just as bittersweet and sad as the ending of The Last Unicorn! Damn good story writing, punched me in the feels though!

Oof, this is just as tragic and uncertain as when "Amalthea" forgot that she was a unicorn and wanted to stay human to marry Prince Leir. But she had to become a unicorn again to save her people, and she wouldn't have had the power to bring Lir back to life after the Red Bull killed him if she stayed human.

I'm just loving this fic so much! Portal series and Last Unicorn sort of combined, in such a wonderful way!

I haven't read any human-Wheatley fics before this one, but this is an amazing start. I literally cried when I finished reading it, and love that you managed to work in WheatleyxChell too. Beautiful.

Wow. This story is incredible. I've read the book and seen the movie for the Last Unicorn and you won't believe how intense that makes this story! You did a wonderful job incorporating the Last Unicorn into this. I'll never see human Wheatley the same way again!

I found this story back when I first played Portal. I’m not a huge fan of human!Wheatley either, for exactly the reasons you mentioned, so your approach sounded promising. Also, the connection to The Last Unicorn was really intriguing. Well, for some reason, I ended up not reading it after all. Luckily, when I was looking for good Portal stories now, I remembered there was this fic I wanted to read, so now I actually got around to do so.

Okay, enough of my rambling, I’m just glad I found your story again. I practically inhaled it. It’s really good. The characters were portrayed quite realistically and the story was new and refreshing. And, of course, the parallels to The Last Unicorn made it even better. Love this film.

I’m also glad that you sticked to turning Wheatley back and not letting him have a romance with Chell and they lived happily ever after. That’s what happens far too often. So a huge thank you for that. The romance subplot was actually rather nice, but also not over-empathized. Even though I felt it was a little bit rushed. I mean, the whole thing took place over the span of a single day? It didn’t seem that short, because it was spread over so many chapters, but still, when I think about that now, that was a liiittle bit fast.

Oh, and I also love you for including the adventure, space and fact core and keeping them all in character. The role you gave them fit perfectly. Especially the space core was adorable in his position as a space obsessed guide. In general, you managed to take them and develop them further in a way that is just so believeable.

The only thing I don’t quite get is this: GLaDOS turns Wheatley into a human as a punishment. Why did she agree to turn him back immediately? Sure, she gets Chell to do some tests and then gets rid of her for good, but really? Is that the only reason? That kind of makes me wonder why she would turn him in the first place, if she goes like “Okay, whatever, I don’t care” just a moment later. Oh well.
Still, this is an awesome story and I’m glad you shared it with us. Thank you. :)

(You also made me order the book of The Last Unicorn, since I realized I never actually read it and I guess it’s a bit more detailed than the movie. So, looking forward to that.)

This story was powerful.

This is an amazing story. Throughout the entire trip, I felt like this was some kind of Portal 3, and if this was plot of Portal 3, that would be great. The adventure and the *cough*not*cough* subtle romance subplot fit together perfectly. I would highly recommend this story to anybody.

Oh, not the turrets... they made me ragequit a few times, especially during Portal 2. But Chell seems to deal with them... I feel like poor Wheatley!
