This was a lovely tag. I hope you would be writing one for 6x06. If you can, that was a very interesting episode.

Patresa chapter 1 . 10/27/2013

youshinebright chapter 1 . 10/27/2013

Guest chapter 1 . 10/26/2013
Beautifully written and yes this would have made a much better scene at the end of the episode.
JisbonMustHappen chapter 1 . 10/26/2013
This was brilliant, missing scene. We need them to hug to offer each other support.

Thank you :)

Mossi.b chapter 1 . 10/26/2013
This was great...sue you? why...go sit back down in front of another blank word document...go on...!

This was a glimpse of a perfect private moment, that is well within the realms of believable, I found I was actually holding my breath so that I didn't disturb them...great stuff, and thank you.
Calypsoh chapter 1 . 10/26/2013
Fantastic text, iI really liked it, and the way you're showing Lisbon's fear just for a while! "they would both be strong!"...;exactly! a perfect last sentence for a perfect text! Congratulations!
Kiryki chapter 1 . 10/25/2013
christ almighty I'm gonna cry. you must be exhausted from baby and yet you still manage to write perfection. please tell me to what pagan gods or goddesses you offer sacrifices to because I'm just frankly in jealous awe.
MartyMac49 chapter 1 . 10/25/2013
Hey Starry - fantastic ! I wish Jane would come give me a hug and a chin's up, girl, sometimes. I knew Kirkland was a dead man, I just didn't see it coming so quickly! This was a very nice follow-up to the show which seemed to end so abruptly. Thanks MM
marshmallowdeviant chapter 1 . 10/25/2013
Aw. Very sweet. You can see how much this final dash to the finish line is wearing on them here. Great job!x
Frogster chapter 1 . 10/25/2013
Aww, Jane! "Let me be strong for the both of us" was pretty much as good as a "thank you" for all the times that Lisbon has been strong for the both of them, and for all the times she's supported him over the years.

Loved their little moment.

And only Jane would come to Lisbon's house at 2:30 am. I know this time he was bearing bad news, but he might just decide to show up at that time for a "social call". (Maybe he just wanted to see Lisbon in her jersey again.)

While I do agree that Lisbon has kind of relaxed her convictions (at least about the court system) over the years, I do disagree with the view that Lisbon would admire Kirkland's method of trying to catch Red John. That would be totally against her morals. I can't see her admiring such a destructive, unorthodox method. Let's face it, even Jane hasn't gone to such lengths. And Lisbon has been angry with Jane many times for his underhanded methods, so it's safe to say she would at least reject Kirkland's idea, if she didn't find it abhorrent.

That said, I enjoyed the rest of it. Liked that you had Lisbon thinking over all the concessions she's made in the past. I don't think they're total moral concessions, though; I think she's just been able to realize that sometimes the "justice" system doesn't do the right thing.

Glad you wrote a tag. I'm always happy to see you've written another story.

Hope the new baby is doing well! Update soon!
mrs.sastre chapter 1 . 10/25/2013
"Let me strong enough for the both of us." Very powerful phrase that.

As damaged as he is, I can easily imagine Jane saying this to Lisbon. He would say it, and mean it too, because of the deep and abiding affection that he feels for her.

I found this story very much in character for both of them - I have wondered sometimes why Lisbon doesn't just scream with all of the frustration and fear she must feel. So it felt like a bit of release for me too to read this, for her to shed a tear or two.
