Loved your story, shows Darryl's vulnerable side in a way that you feel his sadness. He really could have sought Beth out for comfort, she was an old soul with a happy young mind.

Beautiful in so many ways. Perfectly captures the stillness of day zero and their relationship. The stillness that comes with loss. The tempestuous quiet, I imagine, that inhibits their blue eyes and connected bodies. Stillness, not in the sense of stagnancy, but in the sense of contentment found in closeness and light touches.
