Reviews for When a Good Man Goes to War |

![]() ![]() ![]() Me encantó |
![]() ![]() It would be great if you could please clearly mark your story as slash, so that one does not get halfway through a promising read before discovering it's not really their cup of tea. Thanks. |
![]() ![]() ![]() John's portrayed as such a softy in most other fics, that you almost forget that it's Captain Watson... |
![]() ![]() ![]() ...-cackles as silently as possible- Loved It! |
![]() ![]() ![]() So Sherlock was held in durance vile with nobody talking to him for four days and then all the Ruax stuff was in one day? He must have been really stiff sitting in that chair all that time ... not to mention never having to use the loo ... Okay, I know my comments have been snarky, but I basically did it because I can see underneath it all that you have the potential to be a good writer. You just need to think about things a little bit, visualize your scenes and keep the characters in character. Even when writing slash, remember that John and Sherlock are both strong men and will act and react accordingly. |
![]() ![]() ![]() And ... two days on the outside while there's no time elapsed in the dungeon? |
![]() ![]() ![]() That whole bit with Mulder ... no. A Special Ops Lieutenant on a mission wouldn't go into that. At least not that way. It would be much more brisk, businesslike. Just to find out any situation that might affect the outcome of the op. And Captain Watson would recognize that, and give him just that information. And he should be Captain Watson at this point, not John or Doctor Watson. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ... And Sherlock was way OOC last chapter and talks too much in this one. He's not a damsel in distress, but is thinking and behaving like one. And why is Ruax letting Sherlock have the benefit of hours to rest? He's had him for close to 24 hours now. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The editor in me is having kittens at your first three paragraphs. Assuming that Sherlock has been freed from the chair he was bound to in Chapter 2 (and how did he see that the chair was bolted in the floor while he was sitting in it and had his head lowered? give the position a try and you'll see it doesn't work), he is now both curling up and spreading out, as well as shivering and having the cold and damp get to him while relishing having the cool concrete beneath him. The curling and shivering and being cold and damp is the most likely set of circumstances. Onward ... |
![]() ![]() ![]() I doubt Douggie would have only a single client, or that Sherlock would be buying often enough to keep him in business. Overlooking the flaw in the plot, I read onwards ... |
![]() ![]() You wrote a wonderful story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the great work! |
![]() ![]() Wow. Awesome! A very good way to end it! Lovely story! If you decide to make this a series, you might consider doing a post-Reichenbach sequel, not a direct. Or a seperate "case-fic in the same 'verse, but seperate from the canon timeline... Very good job! |
![]() ![]() In my humble opinion, this would be an amazing start to a series! I would hate for you to begin a series and quickly burn out though, so the final decision must be yours! Lovely chapter, both the boys are opening up! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Where did that come from? John was being all awesome, and good, and Sherlock was being Sherlocky, and John was explaining his rules, and how he looks after Sherlock, and suddenly they are kissing. WHY?! |
![]() ![]() ![]() NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *collapses into a corner sobbing my eyes out* It can't be finished, it just can't be! |
