Oh my goodness. "Scheming performance anxiety" made me laugh out loud. As others have said, your Jane and Lisbon dialogue is perfection. I just wanted you to know that people still read and appreciate these gems.

Okay so basically I have decided that this is THE definitive take on how Jane and Lisbon get together. I know for storytelling reasons why the writers had Jane be the one to declare himself, but your Lisbon is SO ON POINT here - honestly exactly how I'd expect her to act if Jane couldn't get his act together. As much as I love the idea of Jane declaring himself, I think Lisbon has always been the stronger and braver of the two of them, and based on the canon characterization up to mid season 6, I think she should have put a similar plan into motion. (And in a way, she kind of did - I think she bought that nightgown in 6x16 specifically for the con. Had Jane been awake, I imagine that the results would have been exactly what you have written here. Or had Pike not come into the picture, I think Lisbon would have escalated her efforts from nightgowns to putting that Victoria's Secret credit card to use.)

ALSO can we talk about your incredible, otherworldly ability to write Jane and Lisbon banter? I think maybe I've told you this before, but gosh the dialogue really shines here. And the last line? Perfect.

I think the moral of this story is that I need to send you some more prompts to distract you from your novel writing so that you write more Jane/Lisbon. Thank you a million times over for writing for this fandom!

I keep rereading that piece and I realize, to my horror, that I never reviewed it!
I absolutely love it, and I wouldn't know what part to single out!
Maybe the fact that Lisbon is her sassy, self-assured and funny self, I love it.
The toaster comment makes me laugh each time, and the coffee in the break room moment is just pure Jisbonism.
