Here's chapter 6 of caught in a war. Sorry for the wait!

Yugi stared at Dartz with anger filled eyes. The man smirked at him from where he sat across the room.

"Hello Yugi." he smirked at him. "Heba you've done well."

Yugi snapped his eyes to his cousin. "You fucking bastard!"

"Now now there's no need for name calling." Dartz said standing up. He walked over to Yugi. "You must learn to respect your family."

"Fuck you. He's a piece of shit." Yugi growled at Dartz. "You are lower than dirt."

"Still some fight in you huh?" Dartz laughed. "Don't worry that'll change."

"Never." Yugi growled. He head but Dartz in the face. Dartz grunted and stepped back. A moment later YUgi felt a pain through is stomach as Heba punched him in it. He coughed and forced himself to stay up despite the need to curlde up.

"Get down to your knees!" Heba ordered.

"Make me fucker." Yugi glared at him.

Heba smirked and walked behind Yugi. "Gladly." he kicked the back of Yugi's knees forcing him to fall to them. he laughed darkly and leaned down till he was close to Yugi's ear. "See wasn't hard was it?"

"Fuck you." Yugi snarled through gritted teeth. His knees slammed the ground hard.

"Nah but i may suggest that to Dartz." he smirked at Yugi. His smirk only grew when Yugi's eyes widened.

"I will kill you." Yugi growled.

"I'd love to see you try cousin." Heba smirked before standing straight. "Now if you'll excuse me I have some things to get done."

Yugi watched him walk to Dartz and whisper something to him before he left.

"Now." Dartz said loudly. "How about we do a little test?" he smirked and moved in front of Yugi. "You must be exhausted. You've barely eaten, haven't slept, and mentally you are clearly stressed. This will work in my favor." His eyes slowly glowed. "You will obey me." Yugi tried to look away but Dartz grabbed his chin and forced him to look. "You are now MY pet. You will do as i say. You will be my source."

Yugi gulped. "N-no." he struggled to keep Dartz out of his mind.

"You can't resist it for long." he smirked. His eyes grew brighter. "Give in to me my pet."

Yugi's eyes slowly dulled and his struggling soon stopped.

Dartz laughed. "Perfect." he let him go. "Now let's go." he took him and left.

Yami watched Atem pace the bedroom. "Atem please stop pacing. It's driving me insane."

"He was ours! Ours Yami!" Atem growled.

"Yes he was." Yami nodded.

"We will get him back." Atem said sternly.

"And do what with him?" Yami asked.

Atem froze and turned to him. "What do you mean?"

"Atem don't tell me you didn't see it too. I know you did." Yami said.

"I…yeah." Atem sighed.

"Pure hatred." they both said at the same time.

Yami nodded. "He truly hates vampires."

"And wolves." Atem said.

"That doesn't make it any better." Yami said.

"Yami he's….he's different." Atem said. "I normally don't care what humans think. Don't care what they feel, physically or emotionally. But him…I just want to….to…"

"Take care of him." Yami supplied.

"Yeah." Atem nodded. He rubbed a hand over his forehead.

Yami stood from where he sat on the bed and went to Atem. "Atem I get it. I feel the same way. And its made me look at several of our human slaves differently. The boy in the wash room…I wanted to shield him today when one of the guards snapped at him. He looked just as our human did. small and frail."

"Our human." Atem said quietly as he smiled softly. "I like that."

"Yes our human. And we will get him back." Yami said cupping Atem's face in his hands. He looked his mate in the eyes. "But for now we need to begin to rethink some things. A lot of things."

"I know." Atem placed a hand over Yami's. "I love you."

"I love you too." he smiled and kissed him.

Yugi followed Dartz into the palace. He kept his eyes down as he walked 2 steps behind him. He had a collar on with a chain attached. Dartz held the end of it. He had metal cuffs on his wrists with a thin 3 inch chain between them.

Dartz walked into the council meeting that involved the King and Queen and sat down. "Sit." he ordered to Yugi. Yugi sat on his knees on the ground next to Dartz.

A moment later Atem and Yami walked in expecting to begin the meeting like any other. When Yami caught sight of Yugi he growled.

"Dartz what is the meaning of this!?" Yami demanded. Atem's growl followed shortly after proving the other had seen Yugi as well.

"I'm sorry my queen I don't understand your question." Dartz said.

"Him! He is ours!" Yami growled pointing at Yugi.

"I apologize but i disagree. My pet is well my pet." Dartz said smoothly.

"You stole him! Everyone knew full well he was ours!" Atem yelled.

"I most certainly did not steal him. He was in the trading market and I caught sight of him. I grew fascinated and snatched him up." Dartz said.

Yami growled. He didn't believe Dartz for a second. "Prove it."

Dartz sighed and took out a folded up piece of paper. Unfolding it he handed it to Atem. Atem looked it over and paled slightly.

"Yami it's legit." Atem said quietly.

"What?" Yami snatched the paper. Atem was right. Dartz had a certified ownership certificate from the human trading market. This meant Dartz truly owned Yugi.

"As you can see he is my pet." Dartz said.

Yami glared at him. Regardless of the certificate he still didn't believe Dartz. Something was off. "How did he ened up at the market anyways."

"Don't know. Didn't ask. I just assumed he was farm raised. Very nice breeding don't you think? Pretty to look at. And VERY nice to touch and taste." Dartz smirked. This earned a growl out of both Yami and Atem. "Pardon my bluntness but am i sensing feelings between you two and this human?"

Yami tensed. Shit this was not something the council needed to hear. They would think them weak. Atem recovered before him.

"Where the hell would you get that idea?" Atem demanded. "We simply had him for food. As you know his blood was very delicious."

Yami glanced at Yugi. "You have him under control don't you."

"Yes. He fought too much." Dartz said smuggly.

Yami felt a tightness in his chest. That fight in their human was now gone and he hated the sight of it. His fighting was what had drawn them to him from the start.

"Yami come. We must begin the meeting." Atem said.

"Yeah." Yami said absently as followed Atem.

"He fucking stole him Atem! He stole our human!" Yami screamed at his mate.

"I know he did. I have zero doubts about that. Certificate or not." Atem said calmly.

"How the fuck are you not ripping him apart right now!?" Yami screamed.

"Because we need to stay calm. For our human's sake." Atem said.

Yami glared at him for a moment before sighing. "I…I hated seeing him like that today. So…quiet."

"I know." Atem pulled him into a hug. "I hated it too."

"And when Dartz pulled him onto his lap like he was some kind of toy." Yami's face flushed with anger.

"You need to understand Yami he followed our example. How many humans did we play around with before draining them? Could you even count that many?" Atem asked.

Yami gulped and looked down. Guilt filled Yami's eyes and Atem instantly wanted to take back what he'd just said. He wasn't trying to make his mate upset. He held Yami close. "I'm sorry."

"No it's true. We really fucked up." Yami said. "What do we do?"

"First off we need to come up with new laws. Fix what we have done to the humans." Atem said. "It won't happen over night."

"but we have to try." Yami said. "For our human."

"For all humans." Atem said and held him.

"You realise that means changing age old laws." Yami said.

"I know. This is not going to be easy." Atem said before a guard ran in.

"My king there are wolves in the kingdom!" he said urgently.

Atem growled. "Yami stay here."

"Like hell i am!" Yami said. "We fight together."

Atem sighed before nodding. He knew there was no arguing with Yami when it came to this.

Dartz smirked as he watched wolves rampage the kingdom from where he stood on his balcony. "Ok my pet." he looked to Yugi. "Let's have some fun." he smirked. He took the chain and pulled Yugi along. Walking into the throne room he took Yugi in. He sat on Atem's. He pulled Yugi onto his lap and smirked.

Yugi sat on his lap letting Dartz do as he pleased.

Moments later Atem and Yami came storming in.

"Dartz!" Atem's voice thundered.

Dartz smirked. "Atem."

"How dare you let wolves in! You commit treason!" Yami screamed.

Dartz laughed. "Oh i've done more than that." he smirked and pulled Yugi's hair back exposing his throat. Two teeth marks were shown. They were bruised deeply and clearly infected.

Yami's eyes widened. "What have you done?"

"What's wrong? Don't like them?" Dartz smirked. "Well let's see what little Yugi thinks shall we?" he snapped his fingers. Yugi blinked as the dullness from his eyes faded.

"W-wha.." he looked around. He looked at Atem and Yami before realizing he was in Dartz' lap. "What the hell!?" he started to leap off Dartz. The vampire grabbed his arm and twisted it behind him. Yugi screamed and froze.

"Shhh it'll be over soon." Dartz whispered in his ear.

Yugi gulped. "Let go!"

"Now now no need to yell. I would love to you show you something." Dartz grabbed a mirror from behind him and held it up so Yugi could see the marks. Yugi's eyes widened. "Beautiful aren't they?" Dartz smirked.

"N-no. No!" Yugi struggled. "You…you didn't."

"Oh yes i did." Dartz laughed. "You'll be one of us soon."

"No!" Yugi screamed.

"Dartz that's enough!" Atem yelled.

Yugi struggled before he felt something between him and Dartz. Before he could look back Dartz screamed and let him go. Yugi ran from him and turned to see Marik standing behind Dartz with an odd looking knife. Dartz was dead on the throne. He hugged himself. No he couldn't be changed. He had to stay human. He had to.

"Yugi." Yami reached for him.

Yugi flinched back before running out. He kept running not bothering to look back. Home. He needed to get home. Tears fell down his cheeks as reality hit him. He couldn't go home. He couldn't do that to his village. His family. Changing direction he continued running. Ran far away from anyone he could hurt.

Malik sat shackled staring down at the ground. Months passed since Yugi ran and here he was still chained up in Marik's chambers. He was a blood bag and nothing more. Sure Marik wasn't too bad. treated him right, kept him fed well, and let him rest after feedings. But this wasn't home. This was being a pet. This was…this was something he never thought would happen to him.

"What's wrong my beauty?" Marik asked coming in.

"I….I was just thinking about Yugi." Malik muttered. "He left."

"I see." Marik said gently. He came to Malik and laid a hand on his head. Malik flinched making Marik sigh. "You have no reason to fear me Malik. Have I not proven to you I bare no ill will towards you?"

Malik gulped. "Sorry."

"I will gain your trust Malik. I intend to." Marik said removing his hand.

Malik stared down. "I miss my home." he muttered.

"You cannot go home. I am sorry." Marik said turning to walk away.

"Why not? Why can't i go home? My sister needs me." Malik said.

"We've been through this." Marik said facing him once again.

Malik looked at him. "I will never trust you. You can't expect me to trust you when you don't trust me." he turned in his bed and put his back to Marik. Hearing a deep sigh he kept his back turned as he heard the foot steps of Marik leaving before the door to his room was shut and locked again. He pulled up his knees and hugged them. "Yugi please come back."

Yami pushed his blood replacer away. "I'm not hungry."

"Yami you need to eat. It's become clear you aren't." Mahad said. Mahad was their advisor and one of Atem's oldest friends.

"I'm fine." Yami said standing. "Where is Atem?"

A sadness came to Mahad's eyes and face. "Where do you think?"

"Searching." Yami muttered.

"Yami he needs you." Mahad said.

"He has me." Yami said.

"Does he?" Mahad asked.

Yami glared at him. "You can leave now." Yami ordered.

Mahad sighed and left leaving the blood replacer behind.

Yami sat on his and Atem's bed. Atem was out searching again. Searching for Yugi. From the moment Dartz pumped his venom into Yugi the boy became one of their subjects. Their responsibility. But Atem had been searching for months now and nothing turned up. Yugi had vanished.

Things had gotten better. Humans were beginning to trust vampires more and rebuild their lives. New laws were formed. But Yugi was still gone. Yugi has not yet seen the changes and Yami feared he never would.

He jumped when the bedroom door slammed. Looking up he found Atem standing there with his fists clenched.

"Atem." he said softly.

"Nothing! Fucking nothing! He's just….gone!" Atem thundered before punching the wall. A hole was left where Atem's fist went through it.

Yami looked down. "You know as well as i do a new born wouldn't…." he gulped. "…..survive."

"He needs to! He had to! This…this was all for him." Atem said.

"I know baby." Yami went to him.

Atem pulled him close. He tensed against Yami. "You aren't eating."

Yami gulped. "I'm not hungry."

"It's been weeks Yami. You need to eat." Atem said.

"Those blood replacers don't do it for me." Yami said.

"But they still have some nourishment. Please." Atem said. "I can't lose you."

Yami sighed and nodded. "So what now?"

"I continue the search. We will find him." Atem said. "I will find him." he took Yami to their bed and sat with him. He held him close. "I promise you we will get him back." he kissed Yami's head. Yami just nodded.

Yami walked through the garden slowly. He was exhausted from meetings and just wanted some alone time. Atem was off searching once again and he knew better than anyone just how bad it would be when Atem came home empty handed again. Atem was becoming more and more frustrated and in result Yami was becoming more and more depressed. He knew everyone worried about him, including Marik. He honestly just wasn't sure what to do anymore. He'd never felt this way about a human before.

A twig snapping made him freeze where he stood. Ok he knew for a fact he was in the garden alone so what the hell had that been? Could it be wolves planning to attack again? Turning to the direction the snap came from he slowly moved towards it. He moved as silent as he could. Pouncing on whatever or whoever it was he pinned them.

Yami had his fang baring as he snarled at the one he had pinned.

"Wait!" Yugi's voice screamed. That made Yami freeze.

"Yugi?" Yami asked looking down at him. "Oh my Ra. Yugi!" he pulled him close.

Yugi struggled for a moment before stopping. Yami looked him over. He was skinny, nearly skin and bones, dirty and looked like he hadn't slept in weeks.

"Yugi." he said softly. Yugi looked up at him before passing out in his arms. "Yugi? Yugi!" he then sniffed the air. The scent of blood into his senses. Looking down he found blood coming from Yugi's left hip. "Shit!" he lifted him and ran him in. "Isis!" he screamed. "Yugi hold on."

Yugi laid unconscious in the infirmary. Yami sat next to his bed. "Yugi."

"Yami." Isis came over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I don't understand. Who could do this?" Yami asked. "Newborns have 10x the strength and speed of an aged Vampire."

"Yami if he was vampire he wouldn't have bled from a simple knife wound." Isis said.

"That's all it was? It wasn't a hunter's dagger?" Yami asked looking at her.

Isis shook her head. "Just a plain knife."

"Then that means…Yugi's still human." Yami said.

"Yes. He is." Isis said. "And it was touch and go for a bit but he'll recover."

"Atem's never going to believe this." Yami said.

"Believe what?" Atem asked coming in. He froze at the sight before him. "Yugi?"

"He's here Atem. He came himself." Yami stood and went to him.

"What's wrong with him?" Atem asked.

Isis explained it to Atem.

"He came to me Atem. To us. For help." Yami said. "He's going to be ok. He will be."

Atem held Yami. "Thank Ra."

"He'll be ok. We'll make sure of it." Yami said. "We'll make him happy."
