'Just for once I would like things to stay how they are. Everything is changing and I don't like it. We used to be friends. We used to talk...I don't know what happened or what went wrong. And maybe what I've done is just going to make things worse. But I don't care. I'm the only one who will ever know.'

"Axel. Axel can you hear me?" The teacher asked. I forgot I was in the middle of class.

"Wha? Yeah." I replied.

"Great, then can you answer question 4 for us?" I looked down at my sheet."

"X= 7.5." I answered.

"Well, it appears you can multi-task. In that case, i'll let you go back to your little dream world."

'I didn't want things to change but they have. And now that they're like this I just want to go back to how it used to be, before all of this. I don't even know what 'this' is. One day we just kind of stopped speaking. You left me out of your group so I found new friends. We were both hanging out with different people and we didn't see much of each other. And now that we see each other every day, we still don't speak. It's been like this for two years. Whenever you're around i'll put on half a fake smile and half a real smile. Real because I like being around you and that's all I want. But fake because I know I want so much more.'

"What's wrong Axel? You've been spacing out all class." This time it was Roxas that pulled me out of my thoughts. I guess i'd rather talk to him than just think about talking to him.

"Nothing wrong. Valentine's day is just kind of boring, that's all."

"You didn't get any roses?" He asked. "I thought at least one person would get you something."

"Nope. Nothing. How about you?"

"Yep I got one earlier, remember? They delivered it to the class."

"Oh yeah." I said, pretending I forgot. "Who's it from?" 'Like I don't already know the answer,' I thought with a sigh."

"I have no idea." He replied, smiling. I smiled too.

"One of life's mysteries, I guess." 'And it should remain that way.' I turned away with a pained look on my face. 'If only I could tell him.'
