Vengeance Can Wait

Ven was sitting down in study hall doing his homework for his history class whenever Aqua came in. Ven immediately knew something was wrong: his blunette friend's eyes were puffy and red along with her nose and face: she'd been crying.

"Aqua?"

"He lied, Ven, he lied and he cheated," Aqua said softly. Ven's eyes hardened. "He" could only refer to Aqua's then boyfriend Xehanort Jr. who she'd been dating for years.

Ven and his brothers didn't exactly like Xehanort Jr. (heck, he and Van despised Xehanort Sr!) and only tolerated him for Aqua's sake. Well, now Xehanort Jr. was an ex-boyfriend and Ven would be pleased to tell his brothers, of whom Sora would be the most happy to hear the news. No more mister nice quadruplets.

"You deserve so much better," Ven said as he hugged his friend and patted her back as she cried some more. He could see their other friend Terra hovering at the door. He just walked away awkwardly.

"It'll be ok soon. You're a strong person," Ven said as he gave her another reassuring squeeze before he let go. He heard more footsteps and saw his three quad brothers in the door, the look in Van's eyes said they knew. Sora was almost as angry as his near identical brother. The others gathered around and began to make jokes in an attempt to cheer their friend up.

"I've got access to Cloud's buster sword, so I'll neuter him for you," Sora said with a serious look on his face.

"I second that!" Roxas said.

"Guys, I appreciate it," Aqua said with a teary smile.

"Besides, that's too merciful," Van said.

"Hey, you could always go out with Terra to make him jealous!" Sora said as he dragged their tallest friend into the room. He'd been lurking near the door. Aqua burst out laughing at the look on Terra's face which had the others join in.

There'd be time for vengeance and other things later. Right now, their friend needed comfort.
