Chapter One: Missing Midnight

Turquoise glanced out the window, urging Greg to end their conversation. It had been six months since she had left Midnight – six months since the defeat of Daryl, her hated once master – and she was eager to return. It was just her luck to bump into Greg during the five-minute break she took from driving. He had invited her to a coffee and had been taking to her for over an hour now.

"Greg listen, it's been great talking to you, but I have to get going. As I told you I was just stopping in town," Turquoise told him deciding to end their discourse herself. Seeing the look on his face she continued quickly, "I'm supposed to be at Kyle's house at five for dinner with his parents." Greg nodded, reluctantly and stood up.

"I'll see you later, Cathy. I really enjoyed talking to you – maybe we could get together again sometime soon. Here's my number," he said as her handed her a piece of paper with a telephone number scribbled on it in red ink, "Call me up next time your in town." Turquoise nodded, silently wishing he wasn't being so nice to her. She wouldn't be able to see him anymore – she didn't want to hurt him.

Turquoise took a left, and sped down the road – every kilometer getting closer to Midnight. And Jaguar. She had admitted it to herself during the six months away from him – she was in love with Jaguar. Deeply in love.

She reached the parking lot of Midnight and got out of her car. Stepping quickly to the gateway she froze – Midnight was gone. The building within the gates of Midnight was gone. Disappeared. What's happening? Turquoise asked herself. She looked around for the guards that usually secured Midnight, questioning herself why they hadn't appeared after sensing a human in the area.

She ran towards the gate and vaulted over it, landing on her two feet on the other side. She inspected the grounds were Midnight once stood. There was no ashes – no sign of Midnight burning. No large pieces that would've been left over from explosives.

Turquoise shook her head – this didn't make sense. Where was Midnight?
