Spellbound

This is the end of our journey. I hope that the story was satisfying and that you enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to tell me what you think because I would absolutely love to hear it. I hope that you stick around to read the other story that I've completed. It's called 'Yours' and it's a story that I'd done a while ago but it was deleted. I found it on an old jump drive and was thinking that I'd post a chapter a week if it goes over well. Let me know what you think.

Anyway, the characters belong to Charlaine Harris but the story idea is mine.

Epilogue

3 weeks later …

Sookie and Eric walked into the dark building. He'd told her that he wanted to take her somewhere special but an empty warehouse wasn't exactly what she had in mind. She'd asked him several times where they were going and he kept telling her that it was a surprise. Now that they were there, she wasn't too keen on this surprise. She handed the baby to Eric as she swiftly moved in front of him. Her sword appeared in her hand as she dropped her shields. Voids and scattered brain patterns were throughout the room. She could tell that the scattered brains were purposely trying to keep her out and she didn't like it.

"Sookie," Eric said when he saw her raise her sword.

"Shush!" she growled as she began to stalk forward; her sword ready for the taste of blood. "Stay back. I'm trying to get centered. We're not alone in here. Can't you sense it?"

"But it's …"

She lifted her hand to quiet him.

"Fucking faeries."

Sookie lost her fighting stance as she cocked her head to the side. "Pam?"

And that's when the lights came on. She was surrounded by their friends and family. They were laughing at her willingness to kill them all because she believed that Eric and Eirikr were in danger. She received pats on her shoulder. Hugs from her friends but she didn't see them or hear any of what they'd said to her. She was staring at the wall. And she was startled at what was in front of her.

There was a picture of her on the wall that was the size of the wall. She was sleeping and her mouth was opened slightly … dribble running from the corner of her mouth … her hand was resting on her then pregnant belly.

On the other wall was another picture of her struggling to get up from the couch. That was a picture that Claudette did on her own. She was reaching for someone to help her up. She looked mighty uncomfortable but she was as happy as she'd ever been.

Eric was smiling when he draped his arm over her shoulder. "Do you like them? I took that picture and sent it to Claudette. I didn't know that she was going to make the picture this big but it's very nice. Do you like it? I'm not sure from where Claudette got the other picture."

She looked up at his smiling face. Tears flooded her eyes as she returned her gaze to the pictures.

"Pam," Eric said.

She instantly came over and took her brother from her maker's arms. She was smiling from ear to ear when he reached for her. She kissed her chubby cheek and she cuddled him in her arms. "Come everyone," she announced. "The reason for the baby shower is under my protection. Touch him and you'll lose a limb."

"He's under my protection too," Quinn argued. "You can't keep him all to yourself, Pam. That's just not fair. And anyway," he added. "I think that he likes me better than he likes you. I can take him out during the daylight hours."

"He loves the night just as much," Pam began. "And I have the upper hand. Eric didn't give him to you, did he? He handed the baby to me."

"That doesn't matter," Shiloh said as she chimed in. "He's under our protection as well. I haven't had a chance to hold him yet."

Sandy went bug eyed and said, "You liar! I'm the only here that hasn't held him. I had to leave for Minnesota the day before his meeting ritual. That's not fair! I haven't held a baby in years. Give him to me."

Sookie chuckled. This has happened every single time they bring the baby with them to their get-togethers. No one wants to let anyone else hold him. Eric has to do the same thing each time.

"Fuss over him and I will take him. No one will hold him. Sookie and I will take him home," Eric proclaimed. "Take turns and be nice."

"I'm going first," Pam decided.

"Fifteen minutes apiece, Pam," Eric said.

She stomped her foot. "But I had him first. I didn't get see him at all …"

"As your maker, I command you."

Shiloh laughed. "He had to use that on you so that you'd share the baby. Fucking ridiculous."

"Don't cuss around him," Pam warned. "He's impressionable."

The bantering turned to mumbles as Pam selfishly held her brother to her chest.

Eric then turned to face his wife. "Tell me, lover," he said. "What is wrong? If you don't like the pictures, I can have them removed. I just believed that you looked so beautiful that night. The other picture, that was something the Claudette had done. She also overdid it with the size and I'm sorry for that. I'll take them down."

She shook her head. "You are the most amazing man in the world to me." She pointed at the picture and asked, "You take pictures of me while I sleep?"

"I do," he said. "I have many but this one was from the night that everything changed for us. I wanted to capture that moment."

"It's beautiful." She wrapped her arms around him. "But I'm going to kill Claudette when she returns from Faery."

Claudette had been in Faery for a few days to update Fintan on what has been happening in the earthly realm. She'd gone in Sookie's place with three of the faeries from the council. Whenever there are issues that have to be discussed in Faery with Fintan, Eric did not and would not let his wife go. She more than understood why and she agreed with what he'd declared. To keep the peace, Claudette volunteered to be Sookie's second. She relinquished the title as the head of security to Arayleaha; who has began a loving and meaningful relationship with Godric. Anyway, Fintan and Claudette worked very well together. Things haven't changed between too much between them but Claudette and Fintan were at least civil with one another now.

"Have you heard from Fintan?" Eric asked. He knew of Fintan's visit but he didn't let it get to him. He'd wanted to kill the faery but he held his tongue as Sookie told him why he'd appeared. He still doesn't trust the faery and he didn't want him around his family.

"No," she said. "I haven't spoken with him but I sent him a picture of us through Claudette. Are you sure that you were okay with that?"

He stared ahead for a second before nodding. "I loved your grandmother. She was always kind to me. Adele wanted peace and that is what we will give her but I won't ever trust your grandfather."

Smiling up at him, Sookie said, "I love you."

Eric wrapped his arms around her and began swaying their bodies to the sounds of their laughing baby and happy friends. "You're beautiful," he said against her mouth.

She laughed as she said, "You told me that before we left home."

"I meant it then and I mean it now." He claimed her mouth once again. They continued to sway together as Eric made his way to her neck. His wife sighed and melted into his body. She enjoyed the strong, masculine scent of him as it soothed her. Just as always, being with him always soothed her. He kissed the top of her head as she settled deeper into his arms.

"I love you, Mr. Northman."

"I love you more, Mrs. Northman."

"Thank you for tonight." She stood on her tip toes to kiss him but he cupped her face and hungrily tasted her mouth.

"Enough of that shit," Claudette said when she popped herself into the room. "You two are always licking and sucking on each other. Give a rest, why don't you? We're here to party so let's party!"

She stood by Sookie and asked, "Do you like the pictures? Eric suggested smaller but I went bigger. Where's my godson?"

"Over here," Quinn said as he waved her over.

Sookie wanted an update about the meeting with Fintan before Claudette walked away but she decided that could wait. This was their time and they were going to enjoy it.

"Come, lover," Eric said as he offered her his hand. "Let's enjoy this night with our family. It's a good one."

She took his hand into hers and let him lead her to their family. But he was wrong about one thing. It was a great night.
