This challenge is based off one of my stories, 'The Re-sorting'.

You have multiple options for how to go about writing this plot:

1. Your character is sorted into a different house than canon in year 1, no re-sorting.

2. Same as 1, except at one point down the line, there is a re-sorting of student (you can come up with your own reason why this happens), and they are put into their canon house.

3. Same as 1, placed into another house that is not canon.

4. Your character is sorted into their proper house, then same as 2, they are re-sorted to another house.

5. Your character is sorted into their canon house/non canon house, there is a re-sorting but they stay in their house. (This one is easier so I expect a good plot)

I will have a list of characters, each character can be asked for, 4 times, one for each house (for 2, 3, 4, and 5, it will be based on after re-sorting). Once they have all been used, they cannot be used again. Max characters at once is two, you must select which house they will end in. I will only post which characters have already been taken, as it would be too tedious to write out every character, four times, plus each house. I will give you an example on how to ask for characters (both single and pair):

'Could I have: Harry - Ravenclaw'

'Could I have: Draco - Slytherin & Hermione - Hufflepuff'

How This Works/Rules:

• 750 word minimum, no max

• You may have more than one entry (Max 5 entries)
• If you would like a prompt (since that's helpful to some), please ask in your post and specify what type of prompt you'd life (word, emotion, phrase, song, poem, situation, AU, whatever).
• Multi-chapter stories are accepted, as I would like to see how stories could turn out.
• At the end of the challenge, a few special awards will be given out. This will include not only the best overall fics but also those fics that stood out for their creativity and style.
• Have fun!

Authors are encouraged to be really angsty with the story!

Does the story have to be about the actual sorting or can it take place in the other house after the sorting has already happened?

It's up to you when it is placed. You don't have to include the sorting. Just make sure that the character you signed up with is in the house you stated.
