For the longest time, I was a believer in the stigma that fan fiction was little more than someone just getting overly excited about a piece of fiction and trying to distort it into their own thing as if they were making it better than the original author. It wasn't until I gave it a shot that I realized it's something entirely different; it's your own way of exploring worlds and characters that you've come to love. And that's what drew me in, and what's been keeping me coming back to writing fan-fics. Because it's not necessarily my shot at writing these characters; it's my chance to tell stories to others about how I think these characters would act in this situation, while being given a chance to read how someone else would handle them.

It's one big community that I'm happy to be a part of now. I've been writing fan-fiction for a while now (the first story I wrote was about Star Wars: Return of the Jedi) but I only started posting it in late 2017. It's been a blast.

So far, I've only decided to write about one of my favorite anime, Fairy Tail. It's definitely a story that's catered to fan-fiction; the basic idea of the series, for those who don't know, is that a group of wizards are constantly on never-ending adventures. The avenues for exploration are wide and large, so I decided to explore the world of Fairy Tail and it's been an engaging time.

If you start reading someone's story and think you can give a go, then do it. There's nothing worse than an idea that exists only in your head; this fan-fiction community, as I've existed in it, is all about people throwing out their ideas and just getting them out there. It's all exciting; it's nerve-wracking, but exciting! Just go out and write! Be a creative, explore familiar worlds with a new voice! You've got this!
