Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter, Dragon Ball Z, and Simpsons. I'm beginning to write a Harry Potter story which involves the Simpsons (particularly Bart and Lisa), so I think it best to discuss my relationship with Harry Potter, as it is long and complicated. I started reading the books in 2000 at age 10, at the behest of one of my friend's. However, the books had a polarising reputation among our grade. The readers (including myself) felt that they were well-written stories with engrossing narratives. However, in Australia reading is associated with being an intellectual or a 'nerd' and so jocks made great pains in noting how they so hated the book that they would never read a page. Some of those guys probably secretly read it at bedtime, but hey, they had an image to maintain. I have read all of the books since then and seen most of the movies, including the recent Fantastic Beasts movie. That movie was a bit disappointing for mine, a bit of a cash-grab with quality moments peppered throughout (but feel free to disagree!). Anyway, I will start my series with Bart Simpson and the Boy-who-Lived, which covers the events of the first book, and continue from there. I also have been watching Dragon Ball Z a lot lately (nostalgia trip) and so I've also begun writing Dragon Ball V or: How Vegeta became the main character, given my love for that character and frustration with the likes of Dragonball SAI and other written/visual fanfictions for not going far enough with the concept. Unlike Harry Potter, the jocks liked this one back in 2000, as did a few nerds. |
