Author has written 5 stories for Phantom of the Opera, Shakespeare, and Harry Potter.

My name is Meredith, I am a theatre/vocal performance major, minoring in French. My favorite color is crimson. My favorite authors are Jane Austen, George MacDonald, C.S. Lewis and Charlotte Bronte.

I have a new Livejournal account, so feel free to friend me!

Mon Pauvre, Edmond - Along with many others, I have been fascinated with the story of the Phantom of the Opera (musical, book, etc.) from a very early age, however, I have yet to see anyone deal with Erik's spiritual life. He clearly had one, albeit an unhealthy one. It frustrates me that, as far as I know, the people who have dealt with Erik's injuries and pain, either skate over it, or really delve into it, but then are unable to extricate themselves, and end up wallowing in it. This is perfectly understandable, because pain is suffocating. However, I feel the time has come for Erik to truly heal. And that means wading through the muck and re-breaking bones that have healed wrong, so that they can heal right. True healing is always painful, but it's always worth it. Therefore, my first story, dealing with Erik (though he is called Edmond, purely for the sake of originality), will deal a lot with psychological healing. I am also a firm believer that human love, while a great balm, cannot heal our deepest hurts, therefore, the psychological healing will come from the Creator. Now before you run away screaming, let me add that I HATE ART WHICH EXISTS FOR THE SAKE OF PROSELYTIZING. I hate preachy art. However, all art says something, right? Therefore, my art is coming out of my experiences, and my experiences say that there is a Creator. You don't have to agree with me, and I hope you'll read my story and give me a chance.

The Slings and Arrows of Outrageous Fortune - Alas, my Erik story has not taken flight the way I had hoped it would. It therefore, has been placed on the back burner of my brain, where it will remain until its time comes again. The story I am currently working is called The Slings and Arrows of Outrageous Fortune. I am writing it for The 50 Art of Words Challenge, utilising the characters of Hermione Granger and Severus Snape. As unlikely a pair as these two are, canonically speaking, I think that they both have an abundance of soul which J.K. Rowling did not have the time to develop completely. I believe that, given the right circumstances, the two could come to a most agreeable understanding. Also, when I read Severus' memories the first time, I myself was going through a horrible experience of unrequited love, and empathised with him almost completely. I have also been extremely impressed with the size of Severus' heart, yet how much he has had to repress it just to survive his childhood, and how that led to the Death Eaters, and so on and so forth. I think he is capable of being a toweringly impressive soul, and I can't wait to delve into him.

Upcoming Projects - I have a few ideas percolating in my head, one of which is original, so I won't mention it on here yet, unless I actually get it up and archived on a different site. The other idea is one I have had in mind for a long time - What if Henry Crawford resisted the temptation to make Maria fall in love with him again? That one single moment in Mansfield Park is so pivotal to the rest of the story. In the epilogue, Jane herself says if he hadn't, Edmund probably would have married Mary and Fanny would probably have eventually succumbed to Henry. I've always felt a peculiar interest in Henry's character, which, given my fascination with the Phantom of the Opera and Severus Snape might be understandable - I have a thing for underdogs. Except Henry is different in that the only way he is an underdog is as a competitor for Fanny's heart. In every other way, he's got it all - charm, money, intelligence, shrewdness, charm, charm, charm. Or does he? ; )
