Part I: About You

What is your preferred name?
It’s really Kayla, but my pen name for Fanfiction is fine too!

What is your age?
I’m in high school.

What is your gender?
Proudly female :)

Do you have any hobbies?
Of course!

…What are they?
For starters, I love drawing! One of my favorite subjects is rain, but it doesn’t even sprinkle much here. I’m getting into photography – although I hate having my own picture taken (sort of contrasts). One of my greatest hobbies is, of course, writing! Besides stories, I’ve been focusing on writing my own lyrics, but have had problems finding a beat, so I plan to learn an instrument pretty soon! Last but certainly not least, I’m a fan of…well…FANfiction!

Who or what introduced you to Fanfiction?
A friend of mine! He’s actually an author on here too, but does different categories than me. That’s cool though, because his stories are still AWESOME and we give each other advice on how to improve. Thanks for the support!

Do you have any animals?
Yes, I have three cats – a calico, tabby, and shorthair. They’re all so sweet and cute; I wouldn’t trade them for any others!

What difference have they made?
Surprisingly, a big difference. The cats are a big responsibility, but they’re worth it. I personally think pet owners learn the main principle for responsibility by taking care of another life. Plus, they’re always there when I need to talk to someone that can listen!

Do you have any strengths?
A few. I suppose some of my greatest strengths would be writing and painting (although I'm still working for improvement).

Do you have any weaknesses?
Too many to count :)

Part II: Your Favorites

Favorite genre?
I don’t think I have one favorite! My top list is probably romance, horror, action, and comedy.

Favorite animal?
Cats and rabbits :D

Favorite color?
Green! It actually used to be a tie between blue and yellow, but then one day I decided to have ONE favorite color and thought ‘hey, don’t the colors make green?’.

Favorite subject?
Algebra and Journalism. It’s not that I’m a fan of math, but for some odd reason I understand the language…:/

Favorite friend?
All of them!

Favorite couple?
For Naruto, it’s NaruSaku! Naruto and Sakura just seem to connect with each other better than the rest. You have to admit, they're one of the few REALISTIC people of Naruto that could possibly become a couple.

Favorite character?
For Naruto, it's between three of the characters. But if I had to choose, it would probably be Sakura. I know a lot of people hate her, but she seems to be the one with the most potential and has matured the most. She was a little annoying in the beginning, but hey – after the Chunin exams when her hair was cut, she seemed normal. At least she stopped her obsession over Sasuke and actually helped her teammates, right? Even with her being on my favorites, I was pretty annoyed at what crap she would take by being a Sasuke fangirl -_-

Favorite movie?
Definitely Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. All-time favorite movie! The entire series of movies has been awesome, but the third is hands-down the best in my point of view.

Favorite song?
It changes actually – depending on my mood.

Favorite site?
That’s really unfair and biased to ask me ON A SITE, but luckily my favorite is actually this one! Fanfiction…dot net!

Favorite conversation?
From Naruto:

Kankuro - "So tell me something about this guy Neji. I get the feeling we didn't see the full extent of his powers in the last fight, did we? So what's his story?"
Naruto - "I'm gonna pulverize him; that's his story!"
Kankuro - (sweatdrop) "Okay, but that's not quite what I meant. Ya know, you seem like a nice guy. I like you."

Part III: Your Writing Style

How did you get started in writing?
It was actually during Elementary school. When we used to read out loud in our classes, my teacher would always congratulate me for speaking with emotion when reading. I was so happy that I thought, ‘hey, if I can read good, what if I read my own stories!’ Of course, it was easier said than done…or rather, easier thought than done. But I practiced and practiced over the years and have gotten grades I’m proud to say I earned :)

Do you have any inspiration to your writing?
Doesn’t everyone? My friends are a big inspiration. Sometimes they tell me stories of something that happened at school, or they would talk about something that happened to them, and it gives me ideas. Of course I always ask for their permission if I could rewrite their events as a story.

Where do you usually come up with story ideas?
I usually think of ideas during school. I get to class early and either read or write down ideas that come to mind. Lunch hour is a great place to think too. For some reason, I’m not all that great with thinking of ideas at home…it’s a mystery.

What do you like in a story?
A story with an original, creative plot! Stories always reflect on the author that writes them, so it should show emotion and personality. Basically a story that draws the reader in, keeps them there, and creates a smile on that reader’s face at the end.

What do you not like in a story?
Notes from authors during the middle of a chapter – I’m not that big of a fan for those. I also dislike it when an author will say something like ‘I expect 10 reviews before I post the next chapter’…why would they do that? I don’t mean offense to any, I know where they’re coming from, but it’s still plain wrong. If they like their story and continue writing, others will like it too. And if they don’t get as many reviews as they thought, it’s not bad. Everyone has to start somewhere :)
