Author has written 148 stories for Supernatural, Starsky and Hutch, High Chaparral, Merlin, and StarTrek: The Original Series. Ok - so where to start? About me - I'm a fifty something year old Mum of 2 teenage boys. Got drawn in to the world of fanfiction over 10 years ago when I rediscovered the world of Starsky and Hutch and discovered fanzines for the first time. Since then I've dabbled myself in a number of fandoms (mainly S&H). Maybe I'll get round to posting them all here eventually (they're scattered to the four winds at the moment). Favourite TV shows - ok this is a tough one. Until 6 months ago I would have said S&H outright. It's the original "brolove" TV show right. Where else would you have seen 2 guys so openly prepared to die for one another? But then in April 09 I started paying attention (oh I'd watched it since the beginning but not really noticed) to a show called Supernatural. WOW - gotta say I've been totally blown away; by Sam and Dean, by Jared and Jensen, by the great episodes and by the great fanfiction that is out there. So I know I've missed out on a lot and I've been frantically trying to catch up these past months. Youtube is an absolute God send, especially with the new season airing in the US and not due here until next year. That's it for now - just wanted to get something short and sweet up on my profile. Oh except to say that I'm completely and 100 percent a Dean girl. Hmm Jensen Ackles - I'm sure he must have some flaws, but damned if I can spot any!! Starsky & Hutch Ok - so the story goes (are you sitting comfortably). Way back in the seventies I was a complete S&H nut - collected anything and everything that was out there related to S&H and Paul & David (was completely in love with PMG by the way). And then real life took over and I "put aside childish things". Until 1996 when a TV station over here started showing episodes of S&H. And then decided to hold a publicity day in London with Antonio Fargas (Huggy Bear) and the Torino. I took the day off work and went, out of shear curiosity. I met a few people who put me in touch with a few people and before I knew it I was back in the middle of it all again (bliss). For quite a few years was heavily involved - arranged conventions here in UK, went to Zebracon, met Paul and David a few times (grin). Back in 1996/97 the internet didn't really exist as such (can't believe I'm saying this - am I really that old!) and fans generally still mailed each other letters/fanzines. A fan in the US was publishing a bi-monthly letterzine called Friendz at the time (an anthology of letters/stories) so I subscribed and contributed 3 stories (under the name Vg), which I thought would be nice to put here. And then about 5 years ago slipped back into the mundane as children grew up and employed me as their taxi/homework service and I slipped out of fandom (sniff) That's my S&H fandom bio if you like. The nice thing about discovering Supernatural fandom is that it's rekindled the fun in life for me. Now started to organise time for myself so I can start writing again. AND have just added a story ('This Kind Of Life') from the fanzine 'Mind If I Join Ya?' which I produced with my sadly/greatly missed friend TB in 2004. (Hey just realised that I wrote about a black Chevy in 'This Kind Of Life' way back in 2004 - and now I'm writing about a certain black Chevy Impala in Spn stories - how spooky is that!!) Along with 3 poems:- 'Mind If I Join Ya?' the Targets beach scene from Starsky's POV 'Resolution' looks at Hutch's need for revenge whilst Starsk is dying 'Could He Bear It?' Sweet Revenge from Huggy's POV I know not many folk 'dig' poetry but these 3 are dear to my heart - hope they don't suck too much!! AND now the really BIG thing for me is that I've started writing a story I've had in my head since 2004 - "For Georgie" - I've had it all plotted out since then and am having a really good time getting it on paper finally!! Hope you all enjoy it and I hope I capture the guys dialogue ok (please let me know if I don't). Have just uploaded a couple of stories from different fandoms - The High Chaparral and Merlin. Interstingly these were the first stories I ever wrote outside of S&H fandom and I surprised myself really - didn't think I'd ever be able to write in any other fandom. The High Chaparral story "Man of Courage" was a competition entry on a fan site which gave me the chance to fill in a gap for a favourite episode of mine - I hope it makes sense to High Chaparral fans. |
