Masters of War (Rated M; in progress) Sequel to By Any Other Name and Saving Us. Cole/f!Inquisitor, later another pairing I won't say; both slow building; will also contain slash. The rating is chosen for the same reasons as the previous parts, i.e. language, violence, and perhaps sex.

Saving Us (RATED M like the predecessor; occasionally very disturbing; Sequel to By Any Other Name, Complete): These two are essentially one story, Saving Us starts with Awakening and goes way beyond that into a plot entirely my own.

Harry Potter

A general word on all these: They are old. As in almost 10 years old. For a non-native speaker that's a huge difference, and although I did read through these again, I notice that I struggled with the language enough at that time to lose something else on the way. You don't see the struggling any more (unless I overlooked something) but all these could have ... more to them, I'd write all this differently now. That starts with the way I write dialoge now (which has changed in the past 12 months) and ends with my grasp of peoples' voices - which, I think, is really a language thing.

Now the reason I don't rectify that is ... in truth, I can't. I haven't read the books in a long time, I don't hear the people right now, and I would do more harm than good. So yes, Snape is sometimes wayyy too reasonable, and yes, sometimes everyone thinks stuff through to a degree they normally wouldn't. I know that. :)

Maybe some longer Harry Potter story, but that needs so much editing I don't know if I'll be bothered.

Something X-Files. Same as above, only worse. This one I would have to rewrite completely, and I don't know if I will. Certainly not within the next few months.

I may perhaps write a larger Song of Ice and Fire thing, but that's not in the near future.

I also threaten to write a Doctor Who fic, which will probably be a crossover with James Barclay's Ascendants of Estorea, just because I can. But that, too, has a huge question mark.

I might - and I highly doubt I ever will - write something Tomb Raider related. But since that is really very much moot by now, and since I really don't think it serves any purpose other than being an over-emotional, angst-ridden romance cum walkthrough ... I don't believe this will happen. I don't usually do romance for the hell of it, and the texts up there that look like it are mostly background/reference for something major (Song of Ice and Fire/Raven) or ancient (Harry Potter).

What is it with this Servatia person anyway?

I am Austrian with Ukrainian background and very nearly became a Latin and English teacher. I made a sharp turn when I noticed I don't want to teach, fled from University to an insurance, and now that's where I am. I am not a salesperson, I deal with system- and ID10t errors. The latter are the more frequent. No, I do not have any training with IT stuff. None at all. I am an absolute autodidact. My boss knows that and doesn't give a damn. I know html and a tiny bit SQL and I can reasonably handle TeX (not that I really need any of that), and frankly, I have no idea what made me study languages rather than science, for example.

Anyway, this site here puts me to my limits. I wrote my first fanfiction when I was twelve. It was scribbled on many pages of lined paper in blue ink with a pen. It was quite long and written for my cousin, who's nine months younger than I am, was in the same class with me for 8 years, and is my best friend. Since then, I've always been continuing stories I've read.

My approach to writing is usually highly chaotic. If I have a given outline (as with Dragon Age until like halfway into Saving Us) it's easy, but if not, I tend to write the first few chapters, then some in the middle or the last one, then fill in the rest. That's hardly possible here.

Also, I very often write more than one thing at a time. I am nowhere near as versatile in that regard as I used to be. If I switch to something else, I do it for a longer time. So if it says here that something is stalled, and something else in progress, there is a rather real chance that I'll complete that other thing first. Or not, if my mood changes. But if it's here, it'll be finished at one point.

So what I do when I write for this site is create an extra file with notes: What may I not forget? What is to come at a much later point? (That, incidentally, is where I would normally sit down and write that later chapter.) Sometimes (for Air I did that) I even make a list with what is to happen in what chapter. Of course, I then proceed to ditch some of those ideas completely. (In Air I changed my mind about the life or death of one character four times. And about the nature of the relationship between two others at least as often. Not the K/S bit, though. That was a given. I tell you, that's canon. So sue me.)

I also have accidents. People get injured or killed despite myself. As a rule, I never go back and scratch something like that, even if I only write for myself. But here it's much harder to go back and change things that aren't corrections. I cannot decide something I wrote is highly inconvenient, so I return to three chapters previously and alter that.

In short, writing for is an exercise in discipline for me. It's fun, very much so, and sometimes difficult and not the way I'd go about things. So, have patience with me.
