Author has written 6 stories for Dragon Age, Sherlock Holmes, Star Wars, True Blood, and Elder Scroll series. My name's Shane...I've been lurking here for a while, and I finally built up enough courage to start posting my stuff on here. My BA is in English with a minor in General Philosophy, and my MA is in Literature with a focus on exploring narrative in interactive media -- in other words, I write about games. %-) I'll do my best to update stories fairly regularly, but my schedule can vary somewhat due to teaching. Also, I'm published! Check out Open Court's Halo and Philosophy: Intellect Evolved for an essay from me! Oh, by the way! Please review...I'm on here in order to better my original writing and rejoice in my geekhood, so feel free to message me or leave your thoughts on my work! Also, a quick note on my DA:O stuff -- like a lot of people, I recently finished Mass Effect 3. There really isn't a polite way to say this...so I'm just going to say it: Bioware, what the fuck happened?! Abandoning your trilogy's key principles for "lots of speculation" and "artistic integrity?" I could have written a better ending in undergrad! Anyway, point is that I've lost any and all desire to write about Bioware games now and into the near future. I might gain some desire back if/when I do my millionth playthrough of DA:O, but it's a far stretch. Just wanted to let everybody know. My stories: Perspectives: This is a study of the Warden's Companions. Three are finished, but I doubt I'll get back to this in the near future. Look up there for why. Whatever It Takes: This is a one-shot, and complete. It's Holmes at his most uncertain, faced with doing something he doesn't want to in order to make Watson's injuries matter. Veins of History: This, in all likelihood, won't ever be finished. I just posted a second chapter, due to replaying Knights of the Old Republic. Hopefully it'll keep the Muses happy, and I'll have a third chapter up soon. Goodbyes in the Larder: This is probably the saddest story I've written. Just letting you know in advance. It deals with the passing of one of the Warden's key companions. Calm Like a Bomb: This True Blood fic takes place during Season Two, and focuses on Eric. To Each Other Turn: This is a Skyrim fic, dealing with the evolving relationship between Lydia and the Dragonborn. I'm actually really excited about this. :) |
