I got into fanfic in the wake of the Lord of the Rings films, nearly a decade ago now (eek!) although I'm more of an LoTR-book junkie than a movie-junkie, and tend to prefer book-canon fic, or at least fic that shows signs of having read the book (be that LoTR, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion or even Unfinished Tales...) I am also a tiresome canon geek when it comes to LoTR and love fic which gapfills, embroiders, or plays clever what-if AU games in order to make me think about the book afresh. Favourite LoTR fic authors include Altariel, Isabeau of Greenlea, curiouswombat, Dwimordene, Marta, Soledad and Ziggy, some of whom post here and some at Henneth-Annun Story Archive, Tolkien Fan Fiction, or LiveJournal.

LoTR is still the only fandom in which I've written, although I occasionally read others including Doctor Who and Pirates of the Caribbean. My other LoTR fic is all at either/both of HASA and TFF (as Azalais) or, for drabbles, on the tolkien_weekly drabble community on LiveJournal (as Azalaisdep)
