Author has written 9 stories for Inception. (from an interview with Christopher Nolan) Q. So who do you read in preparation to make a movie like this? Freud? Philip K. Dick? A. Probably Borges. I’d like to think this is a movie he might enjoy. [laughs] It sounds like a highfalutin reference in some ways, but the truth is, he took these incredibly bizarre philosophical concepts – like a guy facing a firing squad who wants more time to finish a story in his head, and he’s granted more time by time slowing down, as the bullet travels between the gun and him – and makes them into very digestible short stories. We are The Secret Miracle, and for a little while we were being pretty gung-ho about shoving a lot of halfway decent (mostly) Arthur/Eames fic into the Inception pool. Now things are slowing up a bit, and we have decided to do a little self-explanation. We are not one writer (this is not the royal we), but five. None of us had used FFN in some time, so we banded together to create this group account. So all this brilliance doesn't actually just come from one person. Here's how it breaks down: AGENT VELOCIPEDE. Wrote Method and Madness. Also drew the perhaps infamous (?) picture of Arthur and Eames riding a polar bear underneath a double aurora. AGENT TOOL. Wrote Autonomous and Eames the Liar. Is perhaps better known on the internet for her insane Sherlock Holmes/House of Leaves crossover The Baker Street Record, which can be found here. AGENT [MYOCLONIC] JERK. Wrote The Counterfeiter and Back to Paris. Also writes Sherlock fanfiction, among other totally awesome business. AGENT PANTS. Wrote Under the Table and Dreaming and Good Artists Steal. Writes lots of things from lots of fandoms, as well as some ass-kickingly good original nonsense. AGENT DERP. Wrote Games We Play. Writes stuff for Sherlock, for NaNo, for just 'cause. Thanks for enjoying our work, and maybe we'll be back someday with more. Only time will tell... -S.M. |
