Abused by his Saviors, Negan promises to give Betty a better life. At the Sanctuary, Betty is still trapped in lonely isolation by trauma and her deafness until Negan brings back a survivor who knows sign language, Dr Eugene Porter. With Eugene as Betty's ears and voice, Betty's world becomes louder and she starts to see Negan is not the savior she thought he was.

In the chaos of a walker ambush Carl and Sophia are separated from their parents, placing them in the care of Daryl Dixon, who is fully capable of surviving on his own but has no experience being a guardian. Will he be able to get them all back safely?
