Author has written 17 stories for Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Sherlock. I own nothing, borrow indiscriminately and outright thieve when no-one is looking. Relatively new to writing but a long time reader of various fandoms, not entirely sure whether the writing will continue as I juggle a small family and busy job but it's a nice creative outlet in a pretty grey area of the world. When I have time, I read, although my attention span could be compared to that of your average goldfish. I review if I'm in the mood although I tend not to if I'm not keen on style or setting. I alert if my interest is piqued and favourite if I loved it for any reason, most especially beautiful, lyrical or balls out punchy writing. That really floats my boat. I'm not keen on very AU stories - sci-fi/fantasy with modern settings or transplanted original characters, for example - Mary Sue, I'm looking at you. As you can probably tell from what I write I'm not a fan of re-tellings, you know, the fill-in-the-blanks type things. My brain has already done that for me. I like original stories. I like stories that take the players out of the box and make them free-style rather than follow the same old routine. Oh, and because you asked, my favourite word is elegiac. You know the finest compliment I've been handed recently? That the hallmark of my writing is emotional anvils dipped in fluff. Hah! April 2014 As a warm up to writing again (sorry new fandom I am considering invading) I've been re-writing parts of AI, Darkly and Gentrification in an 'oh my God a two year old could have written that better' sort of a way. It's actually quite nice to see I have improved generally. I think. Exciting news! Well, all right, not that exciting. I'm now on AO3 for those of you that prefer the format and will be cross-posting there from now on as well. Huzzah and stuff. Handle is strangegibbon, natch. - AO3 Link The German translation for In Memoriam by the wonderful innenlebenaussenwelt can be found here - In Memoriam - German translation Tryptich Series - a smutty threesome Sherlock/John/Greg fic co-written with TSylvestrisA, posted here under her account and on AO3 under mine. It's very naughty and was tons of fun to write. First part is Middle Ground new chapter Give An Inch And They'll Take A Mile now up, third and last to follow when we can get our respective acts together. In the works: (as in I'll get round to them eventually) Sherlock - Tryptich, promise, promise I may be sidling into the Supernatural fandom, be afraid. |
