Author has written 2 stories for Dragon Age. Hey gang! waves* I'm a 23-year old northern Californian who's been transplanted in southern California for graduate school. I've been here for 3 years now, so I've managed to get over most of the culture shock (girls in bikinis, tanning on the beach in October?! I thought that only happened in the movies), and spend most of my time with my nose buried in books -- but not the good kind. It dawned on me a few months ago that my social theory texts now outnumber my fiction paperbacks, and so I've been trying to remedy the situation by spending way too much money at Borders. To date, I've been supplementing my reading material with work by George R.R. Martin, Joe Abercrombie, and my current obsession, Diana Gabaldon (author of the Outlander series. If you like historical fiction, romance, and overall AMAZING writing, hie thee to a bookstore or to amazon and BUY the first book. You will not be able to put it down. I speak truth.). I've also started playing video games again, thanks to my gamer BF who gave me his x-box 360 and a stack of video games, including Mass Effect 1 and 2 and Dragon Age. He somehow knew that BioWare games would steal my soul, and I'm not sure if I should be happy or disturbed by this. I started out writing fan fiction ages ago (Backstreet Boys fan fiction, to be precise, and all because I was disturbed by the poor quality tales I was finding on the web) and transitioned into original fiction a few years later. I wrote more or less non-stop till last year, when grad school got too intense to be distracted by my imagination, but I've come to realize that having a well-oiled imagination is necessary as a scholar. So here I am, wading into the waters of BioWare-inspired fan fiction. You can find my finished fan fiction here; I also post it, along with my original work, on my DW journal. |
