Author has written 7 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, and Harry Potter. Hello, all! WARNING: This contains brashly-worded opinions which may or may not offend your delicate sensibilities. This is my profile and I'll write what I like. Name: CLASSIFIED, Ekanite to you. Age: Younger than you think/older than you think. Place of Residence: The U.S of A. My fandoms: Avatar: The Last Airbender-- the best TV show I've ever seen. Gorgeous animation, lovable characters, both humor and depth. Listed first because it was my first Internet fandom. Harry Potter-- It means so much more to me than a book series. Nothing can touch it. For so long I felt canon was sacred, that even the movies violated it (I see them as fanworks still). But I've finally found my way into fandom, and it feels like coming home. Harry Potter is my life and my love, always. Tintin-- Such a classic. Spine-tingling-ly suspenseful and all kinds of funny. Pity the fandom's so small. My ships: A:TLA Aang/Zuko-- In terms of teh interwebz, it was my first ever ship. Zuko/Mai-- Not much to say here. It's my favorite of the canon couples, because it rings true and dear. They're so comfortable and beautiful together. They strike a balance. However, it lacks the drifty idealization of other pairings, and maintains the real, raw feel of young love. Preferred ship name: Maiko. Rolls right off the tongue, and involves fun-with-puns...anyone wanna Maikout? Piandao/Jun-- Wonderful, glorious crack that doesn't interfere with canon at all. A fascinating dynamic between under-appreciated characters. Only a couple stories out there, but they're all very brilliant. Preferred ship name: Jundao. I think we need another neat one, though. I'm suggesting Swordsman and Seductress. Ty Lee/Azula-- Alright, so this one is more than a little sick, given Azula's control over her friend. But it's there, the sharp little hints...and I can see it, and it's tragic, really. Also, it's kind of really hot. My only real femmeslash ship, to be honest. Preferred ship name: Ty Lee & Azula. No one calls it that, but the ampersand makes me happy, alright? Harry Potter Ron/Hermione-- I shipped it before I knew what shipping was. My OTP, which is saying something, seeing as I'm one of the worst multi-shippers of them all. They complete each other and make each other happier than anyone else could, and they already know each other so well. I can hardly stand to see them paired with anyone else, with the exception of Harry. Harry/Ginny-- I feel like I got my happy ending, too. They line up just right...close to perfection. But it's so perfect that I don't want anyone else's hands to even touch it, so I usually avoid fanfic, because no matter how close it comes, it'll always just miss that high mark. I adore the fanart, though. Harry/Ron/Hermione-- Alright, I'll admit, I'm a sucker for polyships. As a multishipper, I hate to have two pairings I love that are conflicting. However, this ship's a bit different. I just think that as lovely as Ron and Hermione are together, adding Harry into the mix could do no harm. Canon gives us so much evidence of how they're stronger together than apart, and this can be expanded wonderfully in romantic relationships. And no, I don't like this ship for the hot threesome smut. Smut for this ship actually makes me cringe. They seem...beyond that, corny and idiotic as it sounds. Harry/Draco-- Of all non-canon ships, this is the one I actually seek out most often. I don't like this ship because "it's hawt." Yes, it can be very, very sexy, but I enjoy the deeper dynamics of the relationship. There are many shallow contrasts between Draco and Harry, but there are more complex ones as well as surprising similarities. It's fascinating to explore the myriad possibilities, and there are so many. Harry/Draco is certainly not an easy ship, but that's why I love it: it takes a lot to get them to where they're happy and functional, and even when they never reach it their relationship can be a great read. And I'll admit, I do have one pretty shallow reason for liking them--their witty conversations, oh Lord. Every genre is possible with them and can be written beautifully. I know this might be stupid, but I recommend this ship. The community is vast, sprawling and diverse, and just so easy to fit into. The people are friendly, the fanwork is breathtaking--from vids to pics to fics, this ship has some of the best. Give it a try and you may well be delighted rather than squicked. ~Friends~ What, surprised I have any? Alright, so I just have the one, but... Lovell Luka is an awesome friend and a great writer (of DRARRY, guys. DRARRY. One ship to rule them all). My fic, "Shack Shenanigans, or, Another Such Victory" is based off of one of her (many, I'm so jelly) Drarry dreams. |
