I write fanfics about a lot of my interests, mostly cartoon or T.V. show. I also MiST fics.

I really don't care about "Political Correctness", especially this "Some eithic group-American" nonsense. Why take so much time and energy to say, "African-American", when the words "black" or "Negro" do just as well? "Native American" to me is "Indian". Course, I don't use racial slurs, either, unless I happen to write a character that would be the type to use it (in which case, he or she will get their sorry butts kicked royally for using such language...). The only time you'll see me use the word, "Jap" is when I'm writing short for "Japan" or "Japanese".

Which leads me to Anime. Now, I know most Anime fans prefer the original language, or subtitles if they can get them. And they use the original Japanese names. That's fine for them. But I am an AMERICAN! I don't speak, nor read, nor understand conversational Japanese. Watching Anime in the original Japanese would do me no good. Subtitles are iffy, because I have trouble watching the action and reading the words, unless the title is on YouTube or someplace like that, where I can easily watch the show and read the subtitles, mainly because the screens are small. But mostly, I prefer the dubbed Anime.

Yes, dubbed. And don't go trying to convince me how bad it is because I've heard that speech before and I don't wanna hear it. I PREFER DUBS AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME CHANGE MY MIND!

This means that all my anime-based fanfiction will use whatever names appear in the dubbed series; Serena, Darrien, Amy, Raye, Lita, Mina, Rini, etc., not Usugi, Ami, Rei, etc. Or Sakura Avalon and Lei Showron. Or, whatever.

I will, however, make one concession. Anytime the word "mini" appears in a character's name in the dubbed version (such as "Sailor Mini-Moon" in Sailor Moon), I will use the word, "chibi". I prefer "chibi" to "mini", and any other word that has the same meaning. Chibi is a lot cuter word to use.

I hate canon and purists. I write what I write, no matter what that writing leads me. Purists who point out every little thing wrong with the fic because "That's not how it is on the show/movie/book, etc." can go jump in the ocean for all I care. I will write what I WANT to write, and NO ONE can stop me!

(Too bad we can't do color. Those bolded and italiced words would look good in red...)

As for canon --the so-called "rules" of a particular fandom-- I have but one thing to say to you...

(Drops canon off the side of the ship, where it makes a splash, then sinks to the bottom of the sea.)

And "purists" can follow their precious "canon" overboard and into the briny sea.

Furthermore, don't tell ME that I don't know what I'm talking about in my fics! And if you don't bother to read the disclaimer and summery on the first page, then you have NO RIGHT to complain about my writing.

Which leads me to the subject of flamers. I have been flamed in my time on the net. They are idiots. They are morons. They are stupid and illiterate. Just look at how they write. No intelligent person would use the words, "YOU SUCK!" for a review. Or any other such words or phrases. They should...
