Author has written 9 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist. Following is an updated list of all the FMA fics I would love to write if I can ever find the time, with a status for each one. I've written detailed concept notes for a few of them that I was afraid might slip away. If anyone wants to take a peek at those notes (why? I have no idea), drop me PM. These are almost all Royai, set in various different continuities, and range from fully fleshed out stories that I've already written parts of, to vague half-ideas that will likely never see the light of day. The farther down the list a story is, the less likely it is to ever get written. But if you see anything here that particularly interests you, please let me know! That will encourage me to get writing. Here's the list: All That You Can Do – Three years after the Promised Day, Ed searches for purpose in a world where nothing seems to have changed except himself. When he crosses paths with three runaway chimeras and their human guardian, he realizes he’s not the only one trying to make sense of it all. Story conceived while I was depressed about the death of my two beloved cats. (Status: concept notes) Birthday – Fluffy drabblish Royai Day-type story. The one day of the year that Hawkeye drinks alcohol with her teammates is her own birthday. This year she's had a bit too much. No drunk hookups, just flirting. (Status: in my head only) Another Man – Set two years after Ishval. Hawkeye is seeing a man, and it's rapidly becoming serious. Mustang must face his fear of losing her forever, along with the realization that she would be far better off without him. (Status: in my head only) After the World Ended – Interconnected drabbles following various characters on the latter half of the Promised Day, culminating in Mustang and Hawkeye's first night alone in their hospital room. (Status: in my head only) Temporary Blindness – The week after the Promised Day. While Hawkeye rests up from having her throat cut and Mustang waits for Marcoh to return and cure his blindness, they covertly spend their recovery in each other's arms. But both know that when the week is over, their old lives will resume and they will have to choose between love and duty. (Status: in my head only) Continuation/Expansion of Leave of Absence – This would either be a prequel, flashback sequel, or multichap expansion to my story “Leave of Absence,” which would describe what really happened in East and South Cities during Hawkeye's year away. (Status: in my head only) Snapshots from the Resistance – Sequel to my AU story “Force of Will” set six years later during the time period of FMA:B canon. It would retell a few canon stories, including the Ice Alchemist and the battle with Lust in Laboratory 3, with AU changes. (Status: in my head only) Trouble – Long before Madam Christmas became the woman we know today, she was Christina Mustang, a 27-year-old hostess wondering what to do with the rest of her life. One day her eye is caught by a charismatic Xingese businessman, leading to a brief but fateful romance. Explains why she embarked on a career of subterfuge and how Roy came into her life. (Status: concept notes) Ashes – Ishvalan War, slight AU. Horrified by the war and their own participation in it, Mustang and Hawkeye take refuge in each other's arms and quickly fall in love. But finding personal happiness in the midst of a genocide has devastating psychological consequences. Very dark; this would be my first M story. (Status: concept notes) Reconstruction – Two years after the Promised Day, Mustang and his team return to Ishval to survey the damage and prepare for reconstruction. While battling her own flashbacks and nightmares, Hawkeye fears for Mustang, who insists he's fine but has stopped sleeping and is becoming increasingly erratic. (Status: in my head only) Scars – A few years after the Promised Day. Hawkeye has long since resigned herself to the fact that she and Mustang will never be anything but professional colleagues. Now the team is in Ishval working on reconstruction, where she finds herself working side by side with Scar. She realizes that she and Scar have many things in common: Both are repentant former killers. Both wear the marks of a loved one's alchemy on their skin. Both have been scarred, literally and figuratively, by that same alchemy. And both of them are very lonely. (Status: concept notes) Passages – Grumman has died and named Mustang as his successor to the Fuhrer Presidency. It's a bittersweet time for Hawkeye, who is mourning her beloved grandfather even as she celebrates the fulfillment of the dream she and Mustang have held for so long. An old secret of Grumman's is uncovered, and Mustang and Hawkeye finally have a chance to put their own house in order as they move toward a more hopeful future. (Status: in my head only) Judgment Day – Mustang has finally reached all his goals: he's become Fuhrer, set Amestris on the path to becoming a democracy, married Hawkeye and started a family. Now the day they've dreaded has arrived as they are arrested and put on trial for their war crimes in Ishval. It's up to the citizens of Amestris to decide whether the good they've struggled to do is enough to outweigh their past sins. (Status: in my head only) The last three ideas are more premise than story. I've really got no plot ideas beyond what you see below, so these are highly unlikely to be written unless someone with ideas wants to collaborate: Theophrastus – AU. Edward Elric never made it out of that mine shaft after his fight with Kimblee. As a result, on the Promised Day, Father is weakened but not defeated. Now he rules over the remains of Central, South and West Amestris as the godlike Emperor Theophrastus, while the rebels gather in the North and East and try to mount a resistance. The name comes from Theophrastus Bombastus Van Hohenheim, the original name Father suggested for Hohenheim. (Status: first chapter in my head, the rest nonexistent) Untitled Hawkeye-Centric Story – A year or two after Ishval. Hawkeye, still recovering psychologically from the trauma of the war, is very tightly wound. One day when she's pushed too far by a lecherous fellow soldier, she uncharacteristically snaps and punches him out. As a “disciplinary” measure, a concerned Grumman and Mustang order her to take a week's vacation. She finds herself in the crumbling seaside city of Aquroya, where she is caught up in a crime/mystery adventure and has a brief fling with a handsome Aerugoean inventor who is trying to harness the power of flight. (Status: maybe one scene in my head) Untitled FMA/Last Exile Crossover – I'm not really big on crossovers, but I think these two might make an interesting aesthetic combination. In Amestris, several years after the Promised Day, Mrs. Bradley is dead and Selim is becoming unstable, showing signs of returning to his homunculus ways. Mustang and Hawkeye are sent to bring him in, but as they close in, he panics and opens a portal that captures all three of them. Mustang and Hawkeye awaken in Prester, an unfamiliar world full of strange flying machines. They're caught in the war between Anatoray and Disith, each of whom believes them to be spies for the other, and hunted by the Guild, who want Mustang's alchemy for themselves. Meanwhile Selim, who still appears to be an ordinary lost child, is befriended by Alvis and taken in by Claus and Lavie. (Status: the paragraph you just read) |
