Footprints In the Sand:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord smiled and replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you.”

Jesus said, "If you deny me in front of your friends, I will deny
you in front of my Father."

Repost as COME TO MY PARTY!

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?''

The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'

His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''

My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'

'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check
Again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''

'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'

Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!''

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''

'My mommy loves white roses.'

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.

I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl.

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

Now, for the wall of OCs! XD

PoM OCs:

Ace.
Animal: penguin
Eye color: sapphire blue
Appearence: third shortest of the chicks, about up to Skipper's chest
Fear: his twin sister, Cam
Favourite food: popcorn
Favourite possession: stuffed banana
Special talent: ka-ra-te
Secret: he still has his stuffed banana from when he was a baby Ace: Shush!
When stressed: he hides in a corner and cuddles his stuffed banana
Skipper is trying to train Ace and his twin sister to be good leaders. But he's pretty naughty and probably doesn't have what it takes. He loves to pick on the younger penguins. He loves fist fights, but hardly any of his friends want to fight him.

Cam.
Animal: penguin
Eye color: sapphire blue
Appearence: two centremetres shorter then Ace
Fear: water
Favourite food: popcorn
Favourite possession: tear-drop shaped sapphire necklace given to her by her mother
Special talent: story telling
Secret: she LOVES to redecorate with old junk Cam: Hahaha... It's called recycling...
When stressed: she sits, crossing her flippers, and scowls at anyone and everyone
Cam is Ace's twin sister. She is probably more likely to become the good leader Skipper dreams Ace and her to be. She has a terrible temper and can get in BIG trouble because of it.

Ace and Cam are about fifteen years old.

Cleopatra. (Cleo)
Animal: penguin
Eye color: grey
Appearence: tallest chick
Fear: hights
Favourite food: candy
Favourite possession: clipboard
Special talent: science
Secret: she never really had a consistant recipe for her cookies. They onyl contained bananas, eggs, and chocolate chips in every batch Cleo: And still tasted exactly the same. Must have been the explosions...
When stressed: she nibbles on her pencil eraser
Cleopatra is a smart penguin. She spends most of her time in the lab with Kowalski, correcting him when he forgets to carry the two. She love experimints and science. Who doesn't? Most people.

Cleo is about fourteen years old.

Rusty.
Animal: penguin
Eye color: brown
Appearence: second tallest chick
Fear: Having no explosions
Favourite food: FEE-SH!
Favourite possession: black, round bombs
Special talent: art
Secret: he can't regurgitate Rusty: Yet...
When stressed: he paints in colours associated with his emotion. For example, red = angry, blue = sad, etc...
Rusty is carzy about explosions. Probably insfluenced by Rico. If there's an explosion and Rico isn't around, Skipper often goes to Rusty for an explanation. If it's not him, Kowalski is to blame.

Rusty is about twelve years old.

Gracie.
Animal: penguin
Eye color: jade green
Appearence: shortest chick, up to Private's waist
Fear: pointy things, like needles, and sharp knives
Favourite food: snow cones
Favourite possession: her pink bow
Special talent: solving mysteries
Secret: she learned to read Gracie: I don't want the others to know!
When stressed: she reads her little book of Fairy Tales (or, according to the others, looks at all the pictures)
Gracie is cute and cuddly, meaning, Private has some compotition. No contest, really. Gracie is the cutest, by far. She is also very timid and shy. Like Private, she has a British accent and everyone thinks it's fake. She also loves Shakepeare, an quotes it often.

Gracie is about eleven years old.

Omega (Ome)
Animal: penguin
Eye color: amber
Appearence: small, fluffy, and adorable
Fear: seperation from Gracie
Favourite food: regurgitated fish (he's a hatchling; what else?)
Favourite possession: unknown
Special talent: he's a fast learner, and learned to speak at a very early age.
Secret: unknown
When stressed: he goes to Gracie for help
his personality is soon.

Omega is about seven years old.

Random, yet interesting, fact: The chicks were originally going to be named after the first five letters of the Greek Alphabet; Ace was Alpha, Cam was Beta, Cleo was Gamma, Rusty was Delta, and Gacie was Epsilon.

Fear: dark, creepy places
Favourite food: cake
Favourite possession: (not really a possesion) Pascal, and Dove, her kitten
Special talent: had magical healing hair

Age: 15
Eye colour: grey-blue
Hair colour: red
Fear: losing her loved ones
Favourite food: her dead aunt's apple pie
Favourite possession: her little black cat, Charbon
Special talent: master of disguise
Tintin's younger sister by two years, Katherine - also known as Kitty - had been separate from her brother four almost four years, living with their aunt until her death. After saving enough money and the finding the time, Kitty took a train from France to Belgium to locate her brother. She also moved to Brussels, purchasing her childhood home to live in.

Charbon (can also be known as 'Coal')
Age: unknown
Eye colour: yellow
Hair colour: black
Fear: anything happening to her mistress or her friends
Favourite food: fish
Favourite possession: A/N
Special talent: knowing when her mistress is in danger
Charbon, also known as Coal, is Katherine's loyal cat, always by her side and willing to defend her mistress. She won Snowy's trust and is now his best friend. They can speak to each other, though to humans, it sounds simply like meowing and barking. She was found by Katherine as a small - well, smaller - kitten and cared for by her. Now she is faithful to Katherine, who enjoys her company.

Frank Walters
Age: 43
Eye colour: brown
Hair colour: black
Fear: nosy little reporters
Favourite food: chicken
Favourite possession: his gun
Special talent: giving people the slip
First encountered Tintin in Algeria and was thought to be in prison. However, he had escaped and followed Tintin onto his boat, knocking Snowy overboard and causing more trouble as Tintin traveled all over Europe to find his dog. He was also behind the kidnapping of Kitty after she first came to Belgium and escaped before Tintin can call the police, free to plot another day.

Greg Dunham
Age: 48
Eye colour: grey
Hair colour: black turning grey
Fear: his boss
Favourite food: fish
Favourite possession: cigars
Special talent: obeying orders to the letter
Frank Walters' best thug and friend; helped him try and capture Tintin while he was searching for Snowy. While he isn't mentioned by name during Kitty's kidnapping, he was one of the men working for Frank at that time. Some people also say he's the real brains behind Walters' clever traps and schemes, but he neither confirms nor denies it.
