![]() Author has written 39 stories for Rurouni Kenshin. Gumi Reloaded is a community of three women (MightyMightyMunson, Anreg and Legalronin) who write adventures in an alternate universe for the characters that appear in the Rurouni Kenshin manga, OVA, live action films and anime as well as AU interpretations of members of the Shinsengumi, like Okita Souji and Harada Sanosuke. Most of the stories are a collaborative effort and each writer takes turns responding to the other and future stories will be active collaborations with seamless exchanges between different characters. If you visit the story called ‘Character Profile’, you will find bios for the RK characters as they are written in this universe and the authors who have created their stories. We're all on Fanfiction.net, so check our other work out if you're interested! We are here for *fun* not profit. Gumi Reloaded The year is 2060. The seas are high, the skies are polluted and the world is dealing with severe economic and societal upheaval. After barely surviving the impact of a prolonged civil war, the Japanese Megalopolis of New Meiji has become known as the most dangerous place on earth. With massive crime syndicates on one side and corrupt government officials on the other, the city is a sharp knife’s edge away from tumbling into chaos. Adding to all this uncertainty, new drugs have entered the city, some being created by shadowy government agencies and others coming from various crime syndicates. Regardless of the source, the drugs, called serums on the street, may grant the user physical strength and power beyond any before—but also may transform them into monsters. Welcome to New Meiji... IMPORTANT: In this writing community, issues of substance abuse, addiction and recovery are discussed. As writers, and members of a larger community, we acknowledge that addiction, chemical dependency and recovery are anything but a game. As such, we do our best to address these issues in a responsible manner through our writing. Addiction is a disease, one that is difficult to treat and is NOT due to a person lacking character, willpower or goodness. Recovery isn't easy either and we have profound respect and love for individuals in need of treatment, currently in treatment and those on the long road to sobriety. We also acknowledge the critical role that medical professionals, families and friends have in the long-term recovery of someone suffering from chemical dependency. If you, or a loved one is struggling with chemical dependency, we encourage you to seek out assistance from groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and other such organizations and medical professionals. If you have a loved one who is struggling with chemical dependency, there is hope and help through support organizations like Al-Anon. Yours Truly, the writers and readers of the Gumi Reloaded writing community. |
