Jaime is presumed dead with Cersei when the Red Keep collapses. Brienne grieves. But a surprise is around the corner. What do we say to the God of Death? Post S8E4. This is a pre-emptive response to if the leaks about episode 5 turn out to be true. I was going to wait until the episode aired, but why not start the rage-fest early?

With a few cryptic comments and a whole lot of angst, Jaime dramatically left Winterfell to return to King's Landing. Brienne works up the resolve to follow him. Post S8E4. I'm in a rage at the episode's ending. I have so many feelings, and here are some of them. Brienne catches Jaime in chapter 3.

Jaime returns too late to save Brienne from the bear pit. Gruesome and gory. Much sadness, very death. The only pleasant thing is the title.

The wars are over, and peace rules the land. Brienne's father pleads with her to become Lady of House Tarth and to take a suitor. No more balls! Brienne will marry the man who bests her in the fighting ring. Can Jaime singlehandedly (no pun intended) defeat Brienne in a duel and win her hand? Post S8E3.

Jaime fights under Brienne's command at the Battle of Winterfell. Set after S8E2. It's a pairing, sort of, just barely beneath the surface. Unspoken and unacknowledged feelings, which is exactly in character for these two! Yet even though they are "actions" people not "words" people, their words drip with layers of meanings. Death. Intense intimacy without explicit romance.
