Not That Easy is set in a universe where Dwarves are frequently asexual. On their 45th birthday, the sign for their One appears on their body. If siblings are One, they are normally asexual and so become bonded without worry of incest. But what if…two brother bear one another's mark and they are not asexual but instead, desire one another very much?

This was originally Chapter 19 of Chase the Wind. Since there aren't that many Dworis out there, I thought I'd pull it out, dust it off and put it up on its own. Dwalin is a biker and not the sort you want to mess with. He is called down to Dublin to help Kili out of a jam. That's where his life gets interesting.

Kili is a vet at the Auckland Zoo. Fili is a photographer who wanted some great snaps of the animals. It all started out pretty decently considering the fact that Kili was very nervous about meeting anyone as gorgeous as this photographer. Kili introduced him to some great animals and then the day got a lot more exciting than either of them bargained on.

The year the young Dúnadan turned 10 the Dwarves came down from the Mountain to trade. They were nothing like he'd been told and Kili liked them, especially the blond one who shared his name. When he turned eighteen it blossomed into something more. But he had Ranger training to complete and Fili had duties as the Heir. For ten long years they were apart and then came dragonfire...

Kili rode the BMX bike racing circuit. He was pushing for a spot on the Chase BMX World Cup team and maybe the Olympics as well. But a drunk didn't make a turn - Kili never even saw the driver who crushed his spine. Fili is escaping an abusive relationship in Dublin. He didn't expect to meet a gorgeous Irishman whose family could give any prospective suitor second thoughts.

This is a modern romantic AU where Bilbo owns a flower shop and Thorin is an attorney. Their paths cross when Thorin needs a birthday gift for Dis. He's late, of course, and has no idea what to give her. Bilbo steps in to help him out and an attraction and a story is born.

Thorin is lost, freezing and there is a blizzard coming on. He meets an unlikely ally who takes him in, and warms him in so many lovely ways.

This story has been in my head for many years. When I was eleven I read the Hobbit, fell in love with Thorin and Dis. I will never forgive Tolkien for having killed all of her family.
