Author has written 4 stories for Detective Conan/Case Closed. The name's Frozen-Infinity, though I also go by Quetzel-Infinity on deviantART. Beta is Tyrian-Vayu on deviantART. He's also writing some original fiction on his account, so check it out if you have the chance! Feel free to PM me about anything or check out the random polls News: -Chapter Nine of Paradox has been posted! (5/20/20) -I plan on re-working Breaking Point at some unknown time in the future. Will likely post to AO3 rather than here, but will post a link when I finish. (4/22/20) -Chapter One of The Inferno announced: "One Spark" (2/5/16) -Chapter One of Ghost in the Machine announced: "Set in Stone" (re-named 12/26/17) -Good news and bad news. The project is probably not going to be around until Carnival of Chaos is done. But, hopefully it'll be worth the wait! (1/10/16) -Oh yeah, speaking of art, I have some pictures based on characters/plot points of various stories on my deviantART account. Check 'em out if you feel like it ;) About the Author Haha, it almost makes me sound serious. Er, anyway... Preferred names: Frozen or Quetzel work just fine. Favorite genres: I have a keen interest in dark/angst stories. Horror is good too. (Is a closet romance reader...) Favorite anime/manga: Detective Conan, Magic Kaito, Hetalia, Full Metal Alchemist (both adaptations). There are others I enjoy, but they don't rank quite as high as these. Bad habit: I second guess my work a LOT... Oh, and I overwork my beta. That too. Age: Probably too old to constantly misuse my primary language... but anyway. A deeply important question: Will I ever write yaoi pairings? The answer: sorry fangirls, no. But not for the reason you might think! I don't think I could write believable yaoi, to be perfectly honest. I can barely write straight couples haha... Another important question: Will I ever write things rated M for reasons other than violence. Answer: I certainly hope not! I have to keep my innocent little mind on murder and mayhem, right?! So what's up with the "Author's Notes" thing below? Well, I figure it would be fun to discuss some final thoughts on my stories. So after I finish up a story, I'll probably discuss it a bit. Feel free to read or ignore it Why do you take SO. FREAKING. LONG. to update stories? Er... it's a combination of things. Part of it is school. Part of it is working two jobs to help pay for school... And part of it is laziness. But when I finally start the process, I like to give myself a bit of time away from the rough draft to dissociate from the story a bit so I can look at what I have with fresh eyes and revise. Then, I send it to my beta and he edits and gives me ideas. THEN, I do finishing touches and post. Er, yeah. Long process. Why no review replies? Laziness at first. But given how much I end up rattling off at a moment's notice, now it's for spoiler protection. I can't hurt you or me with spoilers if I keep my trap shut. (My beta is so horribly confused as to what I'm doing now because I discuss stories with him and then characters change the plot without notice... Poor guy.) But what if I want to ask you something/want to just talk about a story? Then by all means, PM me! I'm always open to questions and comments on my stories and I love any and all feedback I can get. Just please don't ask about spoilers... Aside from my beta, I like keeping things secret until release ;) And hey, even if it's just to say hello or something completely random, I'm up for it. I may not get back to you immediately, but when I notice the PM, I'll respond. A source of anxiety? Opening up my email and noticing I have a review notification. I'm always nervous on what I'll see when I open it... Haha, it's like that present you get that will either be really good or really bad. Whenever I see those notifications, I always get a claw in my stomach and a little voice in the back of my head telling me that's the one that'll make me regret posting the chapter/story... But I've been oddly surprised by how much honest support my stories have gotten. So thank you to everyone :) Who's your beta? He doesn't have a FF account. But you can visit him on dA. Current Projects... Carnival of Chaos: There's a certain terror in falling asleep and letting the dream take hold. When those dreams become nightmares and nightmares become reality, that's when true fear shows itself. A few months have passed since he and Conan have stopped Vampire, and all that remains are the dreams and their hidden terror.(Sequel to Breaking Point) (I will start this after The Inferno, because writing a series in the wrongest order possible is fun... for me) What Now: He was no longer a nation, right? So then, did that mean he would disappear forever? Was there any hope left for this fallen nation? PruHun. Hetalia. Ghost in the Machine: Any good detective could tell you things like ghosts simply didn't exist. So the murders that keep repeating, that's certainly a human event, right? (Detective Conan/Five Nights at Freddy's Crossover?!) (I'll update this sporadically after I post the first chapter) Quasidox: The rain fell from the sky, mourning the bright spark of light that had been snuffed from the world. And for what? Not even Pandora remained for her to hold onto... (No longer a random one-shot. Used to be called "Always Will be Our Hero". Now Paradox's side story.) In Progress... The Inferno: Oh, it seemed the Crows were out to play again. Nothing unusual, unless he counted the small fact that Aoko was stuck dodging bullets with him. KaiAo. Detective Conan/Case Closed/Magic Kaito. (Prequel to Breaking Point) Paradox: The Black Organization has fallen. Now, a much greater threat has risen in the form of an old friend. To save the future, sometimes you have to say goodbye to old friends. And other times, they never leave your side. Detective Conan time-travel fic. Chapter Six posted: An Odd Alliance Completed/Author's Notes... Unfair: It just wasn't fair. He was in the prime of his life. They had never sought to leave one another and yet... This one was a vent-fic and a way to feel out Aoko's character a little more. It's basically the anti-Perfectly Pure, given the tragedy, character death, and suicide-watchdog Shinichi. Life feels a bit unfair, and I decided to accept my muse's idea and vent those feelings through a story. I have no idea why I decided to kill Kaito slowly and painfully, but hey, what's done is done. I didn't really put a timeline or mentions of Kid or Conan because they didn't really matter for this. Honestly? It was painful to write, and I had to stop several times... but I'm glad it's done. Whether it's liked or hated (or any mixture in-between), it's done. It's off my chest. Perfectly Pure: Taking care of Kaito was always a pain. A joyful pain, but a pain. But now that he's sick, Aoko's starting to finally understand her feelings toward the magician. KaiAo. Detective Conan/Case Closed/Magic Kaito. (My first attempt at fluff) So actually, I'm not really proud of this one... I committed many many sins against writing on this. I threw in cliches, wrote from a character I'm not all that familiar with's perspective, and also wrote a genre that is the complete opposite of what I'm comfortable with... I also got lazy on editing. Mostly, I think it was just a lack of ideas, however, that dragged this down. That isn't to say it's bad though! For my first attempt at romance, I'd say it was fairly decent, being labeled as "cute" by most of my readers (mostly off FF but some here claim that as well). I'll call it a win. And hey, I might improve with time Breaking Point: There comes a time when even the strongest break. With both of them chained together, destinies entwined, can they hope to escape the slaughterhouse in one piece? Oh goodness! This story was a lot of fun to write! I started off with a solid simple plan for it and then plot bunnies appeared (and were ignored) and then turned into vicious monstrosities I like to call Psycho Author Syndrome (which spawned Paradox). There's so much I could say about this story and I had a blast writing it. There were tons of scenes I never got to use and lots of times where Kaito and Conan decided to hijack the plot from me and write their own parts. Eventually, what started off as a simple in-and-out turned into a trio of stories and a lot of good times for me. I was flabbergasted from beginning to end with the support I got for this story and I can't thank everyone enough for that! Oh yeah! Fun fact: Breaking Point was originally inspired by HetaOni. Take that how you will, haha! So...if any of you readers out there feel like becoming a beta reader, make sure you're up for at least a bit of a commitment. It can get lengthy at times and you and your author partner need to work with one another in order to get things done well, in an orderly fashion, or even on time. It was hard getting myself to look over certain chapters multiple times (I'm looking at you, finale cause I've generally been a laid back person. But, sometimes you gotta know when to get yourself in gear. So make sure you're willing to work with each other, your author and beta, whoever is who. Most importantly, don't give up on your story ideas. -Tyrian |
